AVENUE in Long Branch NJ is a Winter Wonderland of Food and Drink

Winter is a nice time to plan an outing to take in the splendor of the New Jersey shore and make a visit to Avenue in Long Branch. The restaurant is located right on the beachfront in Pier Village. They offer fine dining and so much more. We always stop by the bar and lounge in the evenings for cocktails and small plates whenever we are in the area. There is an outstanding Happy Hour with drinks and food specials available seven days a week.

It may be cold outside, but Avenue's warm welcome and lovely interior makes you feel cozy and comfortable. The bar is spacious and elegant with an impressive array of sprits on display. There's a huge viewing screen for those who don't want to miss the latest sports game and the vibe is entirely relaxing.

Executive Chef Josh Sauer always has something tantalizing on the menu with creative new dishes and seasonal offerings. The Ham and Cheese Croquettes with proscuitto and brie and Chicken Pot Bar Pie are recent additions to Avenue's delectable choices of small plates. Other items include Chorizo and Potato Taquitos, Bacon Cheddar Sliders, Escargot, Hummus, and Charcuterie. These are all ideal sharing plates to pair with drinks.

The bar menu has half price food specials on Wednesdays and Fridays. Stop by on Thursday nights for an 8-ounce sirloin burger or a veggie burger served with crispy, golden French Fries for $9.00. There are delightful Raw Bar items with nightly specials like $.95 Little Neck Clams and $1.80 Malpeque Oysters.

The beverage program includes a top selection of wine, beer, classic and artisanal cocktails. We like their Jalapeno Blood Orange Margarita, a balanced blend of Sauza Blue Tequila, jalapeno, fresh lime, and fresh squeezed blood orange juice with a salted rim. The Bourbon Sidecar is a nice combination of bourbon, amaretto, fresh orange juice, and lime. Other tempting drinks include the Ginger Apple Martini, Blackberry Smash, and the Espresso Martini.
