The Kitchy Kitchen is a fascinating new cookbook by celebrity chef Claire Thomas. And Thomas is the kind of chef you will really want to get to know. Her recipes are wonderfully creative and her technique is completely approachable. Thomas champions the idea of "New Classics for Living Deliciously."

We like that the book opens with "First Things First" giving practical tips for organizing your kitchen. Claire helps you to identify cooking essentials and even gives tips on "How to Shop at the Farmer's Market." And like a good kitchen, the book itself is well ordered with meal recipes well grouped starting with "Wake-Up Call" featuring sweet and savory breakfast and brunch items and continues with soups, "Bottom of the Bowl, pasta recipes "Al Dente All the Time," baked items "Out of the Oven" and so much more. Thomas has a special touch for her recipes with the icons Wow, Yum and MMM.

Whether you are a novice or a seasoned chef, you will enjoy The Kitchy Kitchen recipes. Thomas presents traditional foods with a flair like her "Mom's Summer Minestrone" or "The Perfect Roast Chicken." But there are some plates that are completely original and surprising like her "Farro Salad with Roasted Squash and Pomegranate" and "Root Beer Marinated Skirt Steak Sandwich." She presents a wealth of recipes to please everyone's individual tastes and dietary preferences.

The Kitchy Kitchen photos literally jump off the page and make the foods look incredibly appetizing. This is a credit to Thomas' wonderful photography skill. In addition to being a fantastic chef, she is also a very artistic photographer.

As an accomplished mixologist, Thomas' drink recipes can be perfectly paired with meals like the Black Rosemary Fizz to be enjoyed at Brunch or the Spicy Roasted Pineapple Lemon-Limeade with Tequila that is perfect for taco night. The book even includes original and delightful tips for presentation and entertaining that will inspire you to plan a party.

Claire Thomas' book The Kitchy Kitchen is published by Atria Books, a division of Simon and Schuster. It is an ideal follow-up to her popular blog. For more information and to purchase the book, visit Thomas' website at http://www.thekitchykitchen.com/.
