On August 29th, 2023, I began my senior year at Crofton High School. This year, I have a partial schedule, so I only take four courses. I am taking AP Literature, AP Human Geography, Honors Pre-calculus, and Honors Vocal Ensemble, my school’s auditioned treble choir. In addition to taking classes at my high school, I am an ECAP (Early College Access Program) student at Anne Arundel Community College. The courses I am taking include Introduction to Political Science and Elementary Spanish. In the spring, I will be taking Writing for News Media and Intermediate Spanish.
The first few weeks of the semester have been a little stressful, as I am readjusting to having to balance school, theater, and maintaining a social life. I am also a co-editor-in-chief of my school’s newspaper and publicity director for the drama club. On top of that, I am finalizing my college applications. The thing I have been doing to help organize my many activities is my planner. I absolutely love my planner! I use it to keep track of every event, meeting, and deadline! In addition to my planner, I have an amazing support system at home.
Aside from being stressful, the first few weeks have been fun! Between football games and preparing for homecoming, this school year is off to a great start! I also participated in my school’s Disney-themed variety show! This variety show is special because it is completely student-run. I was given the opportunity to direct, choreograph, and perform in this show. I loved being able to do this with all my close friends and take my first senior bow. In addition to being a part of the variety show, I have just begun rehearsals for Talent Machine’s holiday show! I cannot wait for what this year has to offer!
