Gabi Epstein is another up-and-comer on the Toronto theatre scene performing a Cabaret night this month, and hers is going to focus on music from the late nineties. Entitled Gabi's Chill Mix, the Cabaret-style evening will take place on February 20th at 10PM and feature songs from Hawksley Workman, Pearl Jam, Lisa Loeb and more.

CLOUD 9 is an award-winning, gender-bending play by Caryl Churchill, currently delighting audiences at The Panasonic Theatre in Toronto. With a star-studded cast that play different roles in each act (sometimes alternating between men and women, or adults and children) BWW thought it would be fun to sit down with some of the cast members and get their take on this unique piece of theatre. Following our interview with Blair Williams, we get to talk with Ann-Marie MacDonald about imperialism, religion and how the edgy-ness of CLOUD 9 still resonates more than 30 years after the play premiered.

Acting Up Stage's popular Dark Night Cabaret Series has its final installment on Tuesday, February 16th when Toronto up and comer Sara Farb takes the stage to present 'Sara Farb Does Ben Folds' - a unique evening of Ben Folds songs. An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin finally comes to Canada February 9th for a five day run at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. Once And For All We're Gonna Tell You Who We Are So Shut Up and Listen. Yes, it is a very long title. However, it's extremely appropriate. The newest show to come to Harbourfront Centre as part of the very popular World Stage line-up is a moving piece of physical theatre from Belgium's performance group Ontroerend Goed. The piece is comprised of thirteen teenagers who struggle with various issues of youth and adolescent rebellion, and so in a way, the long and convoluted title is well suited to a chaotic show that tells the story of a very turbulent time in everyone's life.

Toronto's Jersey Boys are going to give two special Valentine's Day performances at First Canadian Place. They have also announced a new promotional discount code for the month of February, so more people can celebrate Valentine's Day with the Canadian Cast of Jersey Boys.

The National Tour of the Tony Award Winning smash hit South Pacific is coming to Toronto in August as part of Dancap Production's inaugural Summer Broadway Series, and casting was recently announced for this much anticipated show.

Hockey Day in Canada is this Saturday, January 30th and in preparation for the big event, members of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival are squaring off in a hockey game on Friday January 29th. RENT: The Broadway Tour held a special auction at the end of the 8PM show last night in Toronto with proceeds going to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Actor's Fund of Canada. It was a packed house and a generous crowd, and BWW was on hand to watch it unfold.

RENT: The Broadway Tour officially closes on February 7th, 2010 after more than a year on the road. The tour had one Canadian stop, and BWW was on hand to get a few photos of the cast while they visited the city of Toronto.

Les Miserables is widely regarded as one of the most popular and successful musicals of all-time. It was the third longest running show on Broadway and has had over 9,500 performances in London's West End. Throughout the years, there have been many successful Canadian Productions of the hit show, and some alumni have come together to attempt to organize a reunion for June 2010 to bring together everyone who was ever part of the Canadian Les Mis family. BWW will be on hand to cover the big event and has also agreed to lend a hand in spreading the word, in the hopes that as many people as possible will be able to attend.

Toronto's Jersey Boys announced today that the production will extend through to May 23, 2010. In addition, the cast and crew are participating in fundraising efforts with 'Raising the Roof' and are helping give back to the community this winter.
