As BroadwayWorld reported yesterday, Patricia Elliott, who won a Tony Award for her Broadway debut in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, has passed away. Her niece, Sally Fay, said Elliott died of cancer on Sunday, December 20 at her home in Manhattan. She was 77.

MAURICE HINES TAPPIN' THRU LIFE is a swinging, song and dance musical that celebrates the astonishing showmanship of one of the last great tap dancers of a by-gone era still working today and whose collaborators were a jaw-dropping, who's who of theatre, music, film and television. Co-starring the fierce tap dancing Manzari brothers and the all female vivacious Diva Jazz Orchestra, the show is directed byJeff Calhoun (Newsies, Deaf West's Big River, Grease). Performances begin Wednesday, December 23rd at New World Stages (340 W. 50th Street), and opening night is Monday, January 11th.

The Broadway revival of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF just opened Sunday night, December 20 at The Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway), wrapping up the 2015 Broadway season. FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher, and choreographed by Hofesh Shechter.  BroadwayWorld was on hand for the whole evening, starting with the sacred Gypsy Robe ceremony. David Harrower's BLACKBIRD, the Olivier Award-winning drama, starring Jeff Daniels and Michelle Williams, is coming to Broadway.  The production, to be directed by Joe Mantello, will begin previews Friday, February 5, and open Thursday, March 10, at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street). American Dance Machine for the 21st Century (ADM21) will return to New York City's Joyce Theater (175 Eighth Avenue), staring Monday, December 21 through Sunday, January 3rd.
