Telemundo Partners with Dr. Pepper to Celebrate Novela Stars

Telemundo Media announced today the launch of a multiplatform partnership with Dr Pepper to celebrate Telemundo's one of a kind on-air talent. This partnership features an intimate, candid look at the personal and professional lives of three Telemundo novela megastars, and the stories that make them truly unique. The three 'Unicos' are: Litzy, one of Mexico's most beloved television and music stars; Carmen Villalobos, one of the most recognizable young telenovela actresses, who stars in the upcoming second season of 'El Senor de los Cielos'; and Eugenio Siller, Hispanic television's leading man and star of Telemundo's new original production 'Reina de Corazones.' Each star participates in a robust, seven-month multiplatform campaign titled Los Unicos, that will showcase their stories in on-air teasers, a six-part webisode series, cross promotional appearances on Telemundo and mun2, social media promotion, personal appearances, and more. Throughout the campaign, fans will discover the little-known qualities, interests and experiences that have made each of them one of a kind.

The Valentine's Day audience at the new 2014 edition of iLUMINATE received an unexpected romantic bonus after the performance last Friday night. Immediately following the show's curtain call, there was a sudden announcement over the sound system requesting audience member Raquel Fhima to come up on stage. Once she did so, a young man, Albert Alchkifati, strolled out on stage to present his longtime girlfriend with a dozen long-stemmed roses. He then proposed to her and presented the ring. The bride-to-be happily accepted as the audience roared with approval. The entire event was captured on video - check it out below!

NBC's primetime coverage of the XXII Olympic Winter Games tomorrow, Wednesday, February 19 at 8/7c is highlighted by the short program in ladies' figure skating where reigning U.S. champion Gracie Gold makes her individual program debut after winning bronze in the team event. The program also features 2010 Olympic gold medalist Yuna Kim of South Korea, Yulia Lipnitskaya, who helped lead Russia to gold with a top performance in the team event, and two-time U.S. national champion Ashley Wagner. Also highlighting primetime is the giant slalom gold medal final in men's alpine skiing featuring reigning world champion Ted Ligety and Bode Miller, the most decorated skier in U.S. Olympic history, who most recently earned bronze in the super-G. In women's bobsled, 2010 Olympic bronze medalist Elana Meyers, who currently sits in first place, takes her final runs. Rounding out primetime coverage is the parallel giant slalom gold medal final in men's snowboarding.

Last night's primetime Olympics on NBC (7-11 p.m. ET) averaged 21.3 million viewers and a 12.1 household rating/19 share – more than doubling the combined primetime viewership and household rating of ABC, CBS and FOX (9.9 million viewers and 6.0 household rating), according to live plus same day fast national data released today by The Nielsen Company. In addition, last night's viewership was up 11% from the comparable Sunday of the last European Winter Olympic Games (19.2 million for Torino in 2006) – marking the ninth time in 10 nights that NBC's Sochi viewership topped Torino.
