Last night, after months and months of being closed to the public, The Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU opened its doors at 301 Washington Avenue in South Beach, to welcome back visitors and debut HELLO GORGOUS, The Exhibition, showcasing the extraordinary career of Barbra Streisand, now thru February 20, 2022.

American Idol finalist Elliott Yamin recently headlined a concert at Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale which honored that community's first responders. The event was hosted by Every Kid Swims, a nonprofit whose mission is to empower foster/at-risk youth through swim lessons, water therapy, and mentoring programs.

Situated 1,037 miles from Rose Hall at Jazz at Lincoln Center is a Cabaret space that recently was utilized as the backdrop for a filmed segment in this year’s Cabaret Convention.  Last night, Jill & Rich Switzer the celebrated South Florida husband and wife musical team entertained an audience at Table 26 in Palm Beach.  

With Ann’s fingers set loose on the keyboard, her notes, harmonies, rhythms and arrangements, intertwining with her lush voice’s theatrical power and improvisational abilities, the night was full of “moments.”

Jill & Rich brought along a special guest vocalist last night.  Talented young (12th Grade) vocalist Annie Matot.  Annie is Dick Robinson’s Society For The Preservation of The Great American Songbook’s Young Artist.

Whatever theme Nicole chooses to explore in concert or  cabaret appearance, the secret sauce is the expertise of Ms. Henry, one of the most exciting singers out there today.  

There were many highlights in this show, but memorable for me were Clint’s haunting vocal and narrative for “Nature Boy” and Stritch’s wistful rendition of “Somewhere Along The Way.'

Last night on the Wick stage these celebrated entertainers presented their tribute to Nat King Cole titled “Straighten Up and Fly Right” and it was a masterclass in musical expertise and show biz excitement. 

Continuing the Thursday night special at Table 26, Jill & Rich Switzer brought their Jazz and Pop music to the delight of the dinner crowd at the popular Palm Beach restaurant last night. 

It was a “Love Boat” for (Captain) Rob Russell at the Pelican Cabaret last night as fully vaccinated fans joined in the act to help Mr. Palm Beach celebrate his birthday.  The entertainer and designated spinner of tunes in DIck Robinson’s dugout of Legends Radio Hosts had much to celebrate.  

The comedy and musicianship displayed by comic/actor Dave Konig and music director Elliot Finkel in Don’t Tell Mama last night was reminiscent of the glory days of Borscht Belt Hotels. 

Sometimes happenings in Florida are no laughing matter but that was not the case this weekend. Stand Up Comedian Michele Balan flew into Florida for a few gigs.

A few days post Marilyn Maye’s memorable engagement in the Wick Theatre Cabaret Johnny Carson’s favorite singer was relaxing and dining with friends at Table 26 in Palm Beach.  The other patrons in the restaurant subsequently got an unexpected rare treat. 

Rob Russell survived the pandemic and two heart operations this past year so his return to the stage caused a joyous celebration last night at the Pelican Cafe Cabaret.   His Palm Beach fans gave him a standing ovation as they sang “It’s so nice to have you back where you belong” to “Mr. Palm Beach”.  

Continuing its lineup of top-tier cabaret entertainment the Wick Theatre is presenting Clint Holmes in its glamorous supper club.    

He currently is giving quite a work-out to the Grand Piano in the Cafe Centro Cabaret in Palm Beach and last night some notable show biz folks were in his audience and were inspired by his pianistic abilities to give an impromptu performance.  It was another night of standing ovations for Copeland Davis.

Friends, Celebrities, Fans, Dick Robinson’s Legends Radio, together with Mo Rocca and the CBS Sunday Morning Show crew were all in the Cabaret Room at The Wick Theater last night for a momentous performance by Marilyn Maye on the occasion of her 93rd Birthday.  It wasn’t only CBS that had its cameras on for the big event. 

And now the Wick Theater has deservedly and symbolically been anointed as one of the most important Cabaret venues by another Marilyn - Marilyn Maye, who without doubt is one of the most towering vocalists in American popular music. She began her 4 night engagement last evening in the Wick Cabaret. (The Wick Theatre will be opening shortly).

Although the official location of Billy’s Place is located on Manhattan’s Central Park South it’s now transforming itself into anywhere that Mr. Stritch sits at the piano and croons in his musically elegant style.

A beautiful outdoor venue, yachts parked on the waterway behind the  stage, moon and stars overhead and a glorious voice performing a musical crossover selection of songs.  Andrea Bocelli live in concert at the breathtaking costal setting of Portofino, Italy?  Nope, it was Carole J. Bufford in the Harbourside Place Amphitheater in Jupiter, Florida.
