On November 9, 2012, The New York Pops orchestra was the star of the performance at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage. Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke led the orchestra in a highly-anticipated performance featuring a program of popular and familiar classical repertoire. Last night, Friday, November 9th, was beginning of a special engagement of Giselle Wolf Journeys: A Celebration at the Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street, NYC. The three performances are at 7:00 pm and they continue next Wednesday, November 14th; and Thursday, November 15th. The musical direction and arrangements for the trio are by Ron Abel, and it is directed and developed with Karen Ludwig. BroadwayWorld brings you photos from the opening performance below!

Feinstein's at Loews Regency continues its Fall 2012 season with the premiere engagement of Grammy nominated jazz singer, Sue Raney. For her first New York nightclub engagement in 25 years, Raney is accompanied by her longtime colleague Alan Broadbent on piano, in addition to Harvie Swartz on bass and Bill Goodwin on drums. Part of the evening's repertoire will be drawn from their last two albums together: Heart's Desire: A Tribute to Doris Day and Listen Here. The show will run through November 10 at the Loews Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street).

On November 5, the Theatre at Saint Peters (Home of the York Theatre) Lexington Avenue at 54th Street presented the songs of Larry Kerchner ("Somewhere in Time") sung by some of today's most formidable singers: Hilary Kole, Laurel Masse, Kevin Spirtas, Stacy Sullivan, Jeff Harnar, Eric Comstock & Barbara Fasano, Karen Oberlin, Sidney Myer, Raissa Katona Bennett, Jill O'Hara and a host of others. Jim Caruso & Billy Stritch returned to Bemelmans at The Carlyle Hotel with their evening of swinging standards. The two performers, who have performed extensively on their own, gained national exposure together as the host and musical director of the wildly popular open mic, Cast Party, which celebrates talent every Monday at Birdland in NYC, and tours nationally. During their June debut run at Bemelmans, the duo received critical acclaim, and made news when showbiz heavy-hitters like Liza Minnelli and Michael Feinstein joined them in impromptu performances. The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel welcomes back the acclaimed husband-and-wife team John Pizzarelli & Jessica Molaskey to the legendary Café Carlyle. Mr. Pizzarelli and Ms. Molaskey will play a month-long engagement through November 24th. Check out photos of the duo on opening night below!

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY presents a special concert engagement of television and film star Tamara Tunie as part of the Fall 2012 Season. After she participated in a well-received concert at Jazz at Lincoln Center in May, performing the music of Cy Colman opposite such luminaries as James Naughton and Michele Lee, Tamara was inspired to return to singing. Tamara has been singing her entire life, including early appearances at Upstairs at Greenstreet and Steve McGraw's early in her career, before film and TV took over. After making it big in movies and TV and then bringing home a Tony Award as a producer for Spring Awakening on Broadway, many people forgot or never knew that her roots were in musical theatre. She is often asked, 'Do you sing?' She is answering that question with this evening of re -imagined show tunes and jazz standards entitled 'Yes, I Sing!' The show will feature Musical Direction by Mike Renzi, acclaimed for his work with Peggy Lee, Lena Horne, Mel Torme, Blossom Dearie and more. Her engagement - which coincides with the release of her new film, Flight, opposite Denzel Washington - will be run for one week only, through November 3.

Edward Burns Actor/Director and Long Island native was honored with the 2012 Artist of Distinction Award for achievement in film by the Gold Coast International Film Festival last night.

The Great Neck Arts Center held their Gala 2012 at the Historic Oheka Castle last night. In 2013 the Center will be marking it's 20th anniversary in Nassau County. It serves a large population of children, teens and adults from a wide geographic region that includes NYC boroughs and Suffolk County.

Tony Lo Bianco reprises his award-winning role as Mayor Fiorello H. La Guardia in THE LITTLE FLOWER, which opened last night, October 23, at the Dicapo Opera Theatre (184 East 76th Street between Lexington and 3rd Ave). Written and directed by Mr. Lo Bianco, adapted from the play Hizzoner! by Paul Shyre, THE LITTLE FLOWER plays a special limited-run through Friday, November 2, 2012.
