John Scalici To Teach Two Drumming Workshops At Merrimack Hall 8/1

John Scalici is an internationally recognized drum circle facilitator, speaker, musician, clinician, and master teaching artist. He has brought his dynamic, uplifting programs to Asia as well as the United States. His powerful message of 'Unity Through Rhythm' has been featured at college campuses, churches, corporate events, elementary and high school classrooms and throughout the health care industry. Locally, he has led drum circles at Huntsville's annual Panoply Arts Festival. John will be teaching two drumming workshops at Merrimack Hall on August 1, including a special one-on-one class for young adults with special needs.

Auditions For The Annex Theatre's Production Of THE BELIEVERS To Be Helf 8/5

The Annex Theatre is set to hold auditions for Jim Bovino's The Believers. Auditions are set to be held Wednesday August 5, 7p-10p (Callbacks to be held Saturday August 8 11a-3p) at the Seattle Children's Theatre, 201 Thomas St (Callbacks held at Annex Theatre, 1100 E Pike St). Pre-prepared audition pieces are not necessary; they will only use the performance text. Auditions will be held rehearsal style, in groups and last approximately one hour.

CRT's Summer Day Camp, Boomtown Jr. Set To Run 8/3-8

Creede Repertory Theatre is offering day camps for kids August 3rd ? 8th. Boomtown Jr. for ages 12+ will explore the basics of improv comedy. This camp, taught by Jessica Jackson and Charlie Thurston (very talented members of CRT?s Boomtown troupe), is held from 9am-1pm each day. Participants will be involved in an informal showcase for family and friends on the last day of class. Boomtown Jr. promises to be a hilarious learning experience for all!

This year 235 feature length, documentary and short films - from 57 countries - will be screened over a six-day period In locations throughout the state, all vying for top awards. Out of over 7,000 film festivals worldwide, RIIFF is one of only 63 Academy Award qualifying Festivals. This year's films have been selected from a record entry base of over 3,000 submissions.
