Michelle Oswari, founder of the Jakarta-based musical community Jaksical, shares her thoughts on the community as it celebrates its second year. The anniversary was commemorated by a concert, JOURNEY THROUGH TIME 2: THE STORY UNFOLDS (or JTT2 for short), which was held on September 23rd 2018 at the Yustinus Hall, Atma Jaya University, Jakarta.

Perempuan Untuk Negeri (Women for the Country) alongside Geronime Production will open the musical BUNGA TERAKHIR BADAI DAN KASIH (Badai and Kasih's Last Flower) at Ciputra Artpreneur, Jakarta, on October 20th and 21st 2018. This production is part of a string of romance-themed stage musicals which include BADAI KASIH (February 2013) and PRAHARA CINTA BADAI KASIH (November 2013).

Teater Niyaniya will perform their 9th show, TENTANG EMAS, on October 21st, 2018 at the Gedung Kesenian Miss Tjitjih, Jakarta, starting at 7 P.M. The production is an adaptation of local author Kathrinna Rakhmavika's MERA, PUTI, EMAS, a children's webcomic which itself takes several Indonesian folktales and their characters, reimagining them into new stories reminiscent of Sondheim's INTO THE WOODS.

Seven unruly children wreak havoc in their home, scaring away the latest woman unfortunate enough to be hired as their nanny. The widower father is left in exasperation until one day a seemingly magical and definitely very mysterious nanny showed up at their front door.

After the 2-hour show of untamed expressions of love and longing for peace, the logic and passion behind HAIR are made clear: it's an outcry against the growing injustice of contemporary Indonesian society.

GEMINTANG is Teater Koma's 153rd production, the latest in a long line of theatrical entertainment combined with contemporary social commentary. The script, penned by Nano Riantiarno, is also one of the few original Indonesian plays incorporating science fiction elements.

The date was May 25th 2018. On the Friday evening blessed with clear skies, Graha Bhakti Budaya was filling out with people coming to watch the 9th musical drama production by Jakarta Performing Arts Community (JPAC) - DREAMGIRLS. It was the opening night and the anticipation coming from everyone was palpable. The event had 7 months of preparation and promises of being bigger and better than before. Following last year's WEST SIDE STORY, JPAC once again bought the performance license for DREAMGIRLS, this time through Tams-Witmark Music Library.

Sanskerta is  a yearly musical theatre production by the students of Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, a private university based in BSD, Tangerang, Indonesia. Sanskerta seeks to rekindle the love of Indonesian cultural and national values through performing art, combining acting, music, and dance in stories adapted from the Indonesian legacy.

Jakarta Performing Arts Community (JPAC), the Jakarta-based musical theater community which in 2017 produced and performed an officially licensed version of WEST SIDE STORY will return this May with their 9th production, DREAMGIRLS.

Teater KataK will hold their 54th theatrical performance, ROBIN OF SHERWOOD, on May 11th-13th 2018 at Gedung Kesenian Jakarta, Jakarta. The play, adapted from the English folk tale of Robin Hood, will be performed in Bahasa Indonesia.

Cheers and boos from the raucous crowd filled Burhanuddin Stadium. BIG RIG, a stubby robot clad in yellow, threw a hefty punch at B-BOP. The latter, a three-headed robotic monstrosity, easily parried the attack. Its looming build countered with a direct hit at its opponent, smashing it against the rink. Rajit, B-BOP's owner and controller, whooped in victory.
