Tony Award-nominee Robert Cuccioli (Jekyll & Hyde, Les Miserables) will headline the Saturday, January 28th at 7pm performance of JACQUES BREL RETURNS...The Music of Brel, Blau, Shuman and Jouannest at The Triad. Joining Cuccioli will be Tamra Hayden (Les Miserables on Broadway), Arlo Hill (Where's Charley? at Encores! directed by John Doyle), Rick Hip-Flores (who has performed in the pits of Billy Elliot, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and The Radio City Christmas Spectacular) and Ereni Sevasti (The Bacchae at The Public, Carnival at The Kennedy Center).

Ford's Theatre Society announced that Nicholas Stimler has been appointed to the position of Literary and Casting Director. Stimler was previously the Assistant to Broadway Director and Choreographer Jeff Calhoun, who is a Ford's Theatre Associate Artist. Stimler will manage literary submissions, develop of the Society's theatrical programming in conjunction with the Ford's programming staff and supervise casting for all productions.

GLEE creator Ryan Murphy had stated that he was looking into a spinoff for the trio, but according to TVLine, Fox Entertainment's president Kevin Reilly now says that 'There will not be a Glee spinoff, but those characters will graduate.'

According to their official website, the Menier Chocolate Factory Production of Abigail's Party will be led by Jill Halfpenny. The show will be directed by Lindsay Posner and will run March 2 through April 21.

North Shore Music Theatre has just announced their full slate of productions for the 2012 season. The season will include HELLO, DOLLY! (June 12 - 24), ANNIE (July 17 - 29), ALL SHOOK UP! (August 14 - 26), 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL (September 25 - October 7) and GUYS AND DOLLS (October 30 - November 11).

The Biblical-inspired musical Children of Eden is being revived in the West End for one night only in a spectacular star-studded charity gala at the Prince of Wales Theatre on Sunday 29 January. They show Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical's Oliver Thornton, who plays Adam; We Will Rock You Killer Queen Brenda Edwards (Mamma Noah); 2011 X Factor contestant John Wilding (Abel) and Anton Stephans (Father). Today in 1968, Exit the King opened at the Lyceum Theatre where it ran for 47 performances. The revival opened on Broadway in a limited engagement at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, with previews starting March 7, 2009, opening March 26, and closing June 14. Directed by Armfield, the cast stars Geoffrey Rush (who won a Tony Award for his performance), Susan Sarandon, William Sadler, Andrea Martin, Lauren Ambrose and Brian Hutchison. It had previously been produced on Broadway by the APA-Phoenix Repertory Company, directed by Ellis Rabb and starred Richard Easton as the King, Patricia Conolly as Queen Marie, Eva Le Gallienne as Queen Marguerite, and Pamela Payton-Wright as Juliette.

Idina's new PBS concert special, Idina Menzel Live: Barefoot at the Symphony, will exclusively premiere on Chicago's PBS affiliate WTTW on January 9 at 9:00 pm CST. Idina will be live in their studio to discuss her concert as part of a pledge drive for the station during its airing. According to the New York Times, Tony winner Elton John will pen his first book, titled 'Love is the Cure: Ending the Global Aids Epidemic.' Publisher Little, Brown & Company told NYT that the book will include 'the very personal stories of Sir Elton's life during the AIDS epidemic, including his agony at seeing friend after friend perish needlessly.' A release date has not yet been announced.

Broadway-bound Ricky Martin will travel to GLEE's McKinley High to play 'the hottest Spanish teacher ever in the history of Ohio,' in an upcoming episode. Matthe Morrison recently told Access Hollywood that Martin will take on LMFAO's 'I'm Sexy and I Know It' in the episode.

A one-night only concert reading presentation of the parody Twilight: The Musical is being presented by Ulmer Theatricals, Moxyrah Productions, and Dreamcatcher Entertainment, January 16th, 2012 at 8pm to benefit the national charity organization Blessings in a Backpack. The concert will be directed by Gabriel Barre (Lippa's The Wild Party, Pippin at Goodspeed), and presented at New World Stages.

According to Whatsonstage, 9 TO 5 might arrive in the UK in the near future. Ambassador Theatre Group's Howard Panter told Whatsonstage that a revamped version of the musical is currently in the works.

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Jonathan Caren's hard-hitting drama, The Recommendation. Directed by Jonathan Munby, The Recommendation will run Jan. 21 - Feb. 26, 2012 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run Jan. 21 - Jan. 25.
