Coming to cinemas across the UK and Ireland on 15 March 2012 is a unique production of Stephen Sondheim's Company, one with a brilliant ensemble cast that includes some of the hottest names from American stage and TV circles. Staged by the world-famous New York Philharmonic, Company was recorded live from the Avery Fisher Hall at the Lincoln Center, New York in 2011 and is now screening in cinemas outside the US for the first time. The Asian American Performers Action Coalition (AAPAC) released preliminary findings today on the representation of minority actors on New York City's most prominent stages during the last five years. The full report, which will be released on Monday February 13th in conjunction with an industry roundtable, tallies the ethnic make-up of casts from all shows which opened on Broadway during this period and productions from sixteen of the largest not-for-profit theatres in New York City: The Atlantic Theatre Company, Classic Stage Company, Lincoln Center Theatre, Manhattan Theatre Club, MCC, The New Group, New York Theatre Workshop, Playwrights Horizons, Primary Stages, Public Theatre, Roundabout Theatre Company, Second Stage, Signature Theatre, Theatre for a New Audience, Vineyard Theatre and The York Theatre Company. It is the first report on minority casting in New York theatre ever to be released publicly.

In a recent interview with USA Today, Broadway favorite Neil Patrick Harris hinted that a sequel to his webseries Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog could be in the works. Harris told USA Today: 'I know Joss (Whedon) is excited about it, Nathan (Fillion) would love to do one, Felicia (Day) as well. And I would certainly be on board. I just have this sneaking feeling in my gut that they would make a Dr. Horrible feature film and then cast Andrew Garfield as Dr. Horrible.'

Harry Potter star and Broadway favorite Daniel Radcliffe took his final bow in HOW TO SUCCEED alongside costar John Larroquette at the beginning of the month. This morning, the star joined Kelly Ripa to host 'Live! With Kelly.'

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) will conclude its 33rd season with the World Premiere of the new musical, DOGFIGHT, featuring music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, a book by Peter Duchan and directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello. Happy Birthday Carol Channing! She is the recipient of three Tony Awards (including one for lifetime achievement), a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination. Channing is best remembered for originating, on Broadway, the musical-comedy roles of bombshell Lorelei Lee in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and matchmaking widow Dolly Gallagher Levi in Hello, Dolly! She also appeared in two New York revivals of Hello, Dolly!, and toured with it extensively throughout the United States. Channing also appeared in a number of movies, The First Traveling Sales Lady (1956) with Ginger Rogers, the cult film Skidoo and Thoroughly Modern Millie, opposite Julie Andrews and Mary Tyler Moore.

Broadway's Memphis, winner of four Tony Awards® including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Book and Best Orchestrations, comes to THIRTEEN's Great Performances Friday, February 24 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings). Featuring the original Broadway cast, including Tony nominees Chad Kimball and Montego Glover, as well as Derrick Baskin, J. Bernard Calloway, James Monroe Iglehart, Michael McGrath and Cass Morgan. Ebony Theatre's production of Lorraine Hansberry's American classic 'A Raisin in the Sun,' playing at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre, opened last night with performances continuing through February 19, 2012. David Auster will be joining the Stratford Shakespeare Festival as producer, beginning March 12, 2012. Dave, who was raised in Toronto and is a graduate of the University of Toronto, is the current Associate General Manager at 101 Productions in New York, where he has been for over 14 years. In this role, he has overseen the producing aspects and day-to-day operations of more than 50 Broadway productions and U.S. national tours. He has also managed a variety of theatre productions, gala events, and festivals, and has taken tours throughout North America and several places around the world.

The Ball State University Board of Trustees has approved an honorary doctor of arts degree for acclaimed actress, singer and dancer Sutton Foster, in recognition of her outstanding career in theater, television and music and for her contributions to the educational experience and professional growth of Ball State students.

The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle has announced its nominations and special awards for excellence in Los Angeles, Orange County and Ventura County theatre for the year 2011. The 43rd Annual Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards ceremony will take place on Monday, March 19, 2012 at A Noise Within, the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company, in its new 33,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art venue in Pasadena, thanks to the generous donation of A Noise Within's management. The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the World Premiere of A Room with a View, a new musical based on the novel by E.M. Forster with book by Marc Acito, music and lyrics by Jeffrey Stock and additional lyrics by Acito. With direction by Scott Schwartz and music direction by Boko Suzuki, A Room with a View will run March 2 - April 8, 2012 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run March 2 - March 9. Opening night is Saturday, March 10 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are currently available by subscription only.
