THEATER TALK® presents its annual Tony® Awards predictions with favored panelists Patrick Pacheco of the Los Angeles Times, Michael Musto of The Village Voice, and Jesse Green of New York magazine joining series co-hosts Michael Riedel of the New York Post and producer Susan Haskins for a lively session of agreement and dissension. Tony Predictions 2012 premieres Friday, May 25 (2012) at 1 AM on Thirteen, followed by airings on CUNY TV* Saturday 5/26 (8:30 PM), Sunday 5/27 (12:30 PM) and Monday 5/21 (7:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 7:30 PM). The show will be available for online viewing following the broadcasts at www.cuny.tv.

The Stratford Shakespeare Festival this year features something for everyone. For history lovers, there's Henry V, The War of 1812 and Wanderlust, a new musical set during the gold rush of the Great North. Lovers of romance will enjoy The Matchmaker, as well as the classic Shakespeare plays Cymbeline and Much Ado About Nothing. Another classic, the Greek tragedy Elektra, comes from the hand of one of Greece's most avant-garde directors. Lovers of literature will want to see Christopher Plummer's A Word or Two. For families, there's You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, MacHomer and The Pirates of Penzance. A season rich in musicals also features the Broadway favourite 42nd Street. The season runs now thru October 28.

The 20th anniversary HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival, now with Pepsi and presented with Ralph Lauren kicks off on Monday, June 18. Additionally, Broadway in Bryant Park is set to kick off on July 12. Participats have not yet been announced.

Today 1985, the first Broadway revival of The Wiz opened at the Lunt-Fontanne THeatre, where it ran for 13 performances. The Wiz is a musical with music and lyrics by Charlie Smalls and book by William F. Brown. It is a retelling of L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in the context of African American culture. It opened on October 21, 1974 at the Morris A. Mechanic Theatre in Baltimore, Maryland and moved to the Majestic Theatre. The 1975 Broadway production won seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Philadelphia Theatre Company announces the world premiere of the new musical Stars of David to open its 2012-2013 season this fall.

Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein will host a special Birthday party on Thursday, May 24th to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Little / Helen Hayes Theatre (240 West 44th Street), which opened on March 12, 1912 with John Galsworthy's play The Pigeon. The theatre is currently home to the smash hit musical Rock of Ages.

According to published reports, Broadway playwright Henry Denker passed away on May 15 from lung cancer. He was 99 years old.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that on May 25, Leo Ash Evens will replace Jonathan Winsby as Phillip in Broadway's JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, due to an injury. Evens will remain with the production through July 1.

The cast of the Tony nominated Best Musical, ONCE will perform live on WNYC's "Soundcheck" Friday, May 25. "Soundcheck" can be heard locally at 2PM and 10PM EST on 93.9FM. The production opened to raves on Sunday, March 18, 2012 and currently plays on Broadway at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street).

GLEE creator Ryan Murphy recently chatted with Vulture about many of his upcoming projects, which include a film version of THE NORMAL HEART, A NEW NORMAL (featuring theatre veterans Andrew Rannells and Justin Bartha), and more. Murphy revealed on THE NEW NORMAL: 'It's a lot of different ways of looking at families and the way our society is different now, thus the title. But that was my way in, certainly, my own story. I love that experience of going into a writers' room and saying, "Oh my God, this happened to me last week, what do you think?" and then working on that experience. That show is very personal to me.'

Edward Hall's Hampstead Theatre production of Chariots of Fire will transfer to the Gielgud Theatre from 22 June 2012, following its run at the North London venue. Award-winning playwright Mike Bartlett's new adaptation, inspired by Colin Welland's original screenplay, is now booking in the West End until 10 November 2012. Star of Film, Television and Stage passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012 after a long illness. She fought the good fight for a few years and is now happily released from pain and struggle. Surviving her is her son George Brown, daughter-in-law Lauren Shpall and many dear friends and family. Janet is pre deceased by her son Tom Brown (1978) and her parents George and Hilda Thiese (2010)
