Broadway Cleans House, a yard sale featuring items from Broadway performers, will take place this Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm at Pearl Studios in New York City. Organized by Kate Shindle (Wonderland, Legally Blonde, Cabaret, Jekyll & Hyde), the sale will feature donations and sale items from cast members of Godspell, The Addams Family, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, A Chorus Line, and many others. Expect to find one-of-a-kind opening night presents and show relics, along with clothes, books and furniture.

Gary Barlow and Andrew Lloyd Webber's song for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee-'Sing' will be officially released on May 28 and performed live at the Diamond Jubilee Concert outside Buckingham Palace June 4, and Lloyd Webber is hoping for audience participation at the festivities.

Happy Birthday Al Jolson! Between 1911 and 1928, Jolson had nine sell-out Winter Garden shows in a row, more than 80 hit records, and 16 national and international tours. Although he's best remembered today as the star in the first (full length) talking movie, The Jazz Singer in 1927, he later starred in a series of successful musical films throughout the 1930s. After a period of inactivity, his stardom returned with the 1946 Oscar-winning biographical film, The Jolson Story. His Broadway credits include: Hold on to Your Hats, The Wonder Bar, Big Boy, Artists and Models, Bombo, and many more.

Happy Birthday Leslie Uggams! Uggams starred in Hallelujah, Baby!, which premiered on Broadway in 1967, and won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a musical. She appeared on Broadway in the revue Blues in the Night in 1982 and in the musical revue of the works of Jerry Herman, Jerry's Girls in 1985. Later Broadway roles include Muzzy in Thoroughly Modern Millie (2003 - 2004) and Ethel Thayer in On Golden Pond at the Kennedy Center in 2004 and on Broadway at the Cort Theatre in 2005. In 2001 she appeared in the August Wilson play King Hedley II, receiving a nomination for a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play.

Dench commented: ' I would like to be doing a Shakespeare play every single night, and I do try to say a sonnet every day...
