The Princess Grace Foundation-USA (PGF-USA) and its Chairman, Hon. John F. Lehman, announced today the winners of the 2012 Princess Grace Awards. The Awards for theater, dance and choreography, and film continue the legacy of Princess Grace (Kelly) of Monaco, who helped emerging artists pursue their artistic goals during Her lifetime. This year's 25 Awards winners will travel to New York City, where they will receive their Awards at the 30th Anniversary Princess Grace Awards Gala, held in the presence of TSH The Prince and Princess of Monaco, on October 22, 2012 at Cipriani 42nd Street.

I had the privilege of working with Marvin Hamlisch in producing a Cirque Dreams segment for the Kennedy Center's 35th Anniversary Gala. His enthusiasm for unique performance art was unbounded and together we presented an aerial ballet performed live to "The Impossible Dream" under his direction of the National Symphony Orchestra Pops in an unforgettable event. Marvin's musical contributions to the world will live on forever.

Manhattan Theatre Club has just announced Tony Award nominee Jessica Hecht (Harvey, A View From The Bridge, Brighton Beach Memoirs) and Tony and Emmy Award winner Judith Light (Other Desert Cities, Lombardi, "Ugly Betty") will star on Broadway in the world premiere of THE ASSEMBLED PARTIES, a new play by Tony Award winner Richard Greenberg (Take Me Out, The American Plan, Three Days of Rain) directed by MTC's award-winning Artistic Director Lynne Meadow (Wit, Collected Stories, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife).

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Patrick Willingham) announced today that it will extend Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's beloved musical INTO THE WOODS one final week through Saturday, September 1. The Shakespeare in the Park production, part of The Public's 50th Anniversary season at the Delacorte, will officially open on Thursday, August 9.

Featured in this week's event will be the casts of Sista's: The Musical, Chicago, Rebecca, Evita and Rent.

Marvin had a rare musical intelligence and imagination. His work seemed to easily bridge the gap between Art and Commerce. His artistry in writing beautiful melodies always moved me, and spoke to me of his classicism and deep feeling nature. This is a great loss for all of us. One consolation is that his music has been made popular around the world, and people in so many different countries will continue to be moved and inspired by his music as we are.

The World Premiere of Kinky Boots, the new musical brings together four-time Tony® Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy® Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Music & Lyrics). York has appeared on Broadway as Fantine in Les Miserables; Norma in Victor/Victoria (Drama Desk Award) with Julie Andrews; Marguerite in The Scarlet Pimpernel; Miss Fancy in Sly Fox with Richard Dreyfuss; and Christine Colgate in Dirty Rotten Scoundrelswith Jonathan Pryce. She appeared off-Broadway opposite Julie Andrews in Stephen Sondheim's Putting It Together and in the Lincoln Center Theater production of Dessa Rose. Most recently, Rachel was seen in The Best Is Yet to Come: The Music of Cy Coleman and created the role of Cruella de Vil in The 101 Dalmatians Musical directed by Jerry Zaks.

According to CBS New York, Broadway's Longacre Theatre, currently the home of MIKE TYSON: UNDISPUTED TRUTH, has been under the threat of attack from a still unidentified Twitter user. According to the Associated Press, HAIRSPRAY creator Mark O'Donnell passed away today in his Upper West Side home. He was 58 years old.

According to the Huffington Post, Broadway veteran Laura Bell Bundy hs signed on for a multi-epsiode arc on CW's 'Hart of Dixie.' Bundy will play a love interest for Tucker beginning October 16.

The Public Theater is currently presenting the Shakespeare in the Park production of INTO THE WOODS at the Delacorte Theater. Producers Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel and Howard & Janet Kagan announced today that THE ANARCHIST, a new play written and directed by DAVID MAMET starring PATTI LuPONE and DEBRA WINGER, previously announced to be presented at the Lyceum Theatre, will now be presented on Broadway at the newly refurbished Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street). According to Hollywood.com, Spike Lee, who directed Undisputed Truth that opened last week at the Longacre Theatre, wants to bring 'Do the Right Thing' to Broadway next. Lee revealed that he is 'talking to Sir James Nederlander about it.'

The West End production of Blood Brothers, which has been running at the Phoenix Theatre for almost 24 years will close on October 27. The show will have played over 10,000 upon its closing night.

According to the New York Times, John C. McGinley has joined previously announced Al Pacino, David Harbour, Richard Schiff, Bobby Cannavale and Jeremy Shamos in the Broadway revival of David Mamet'S acclaimed Pulitzer Prize-winning drama GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS. The 'Scrubs' actor will play 'Dave Moss.'
