Nicole Rosky

Nicole is the Editor-in-Chief of BroadwayWorld, where she began her journey as an intern in 2010. As BroadwayWorld's Senior Managing Editor, a role she took on in 2012, she covered over a decade's-worth of theatre and live entertainment in New York City and around the world. Throughout her time with BroadwayWorld, Nicole has worked extensively with the photo and video team, producing (and sometimes editing) a great deal of the site's original programming, including Backstage with Richard Ridge, Dance Captain Dance Attack, Next on Stage, Kid Critics, and Teen Critics, just to name a few. Originally from outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is a proud graduate of Penn State University's College of Communications. Nicole currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where she gets to enjoy far more great theatre than she ever dreamed. Her first great role was "Billy Flynn" in her fourth grade musical theatre class. Oh, how far she has come!

  • Tony Nominee Reactions - I have had the pleasure of covering every Tony Awards season since 2011 and one of my favorite parts is hearing from the nominees just moments after they find out that they ARE nominees.
  • Theatre Queens - When I'm not at a Broadway show, you'll find me at home, catching up on the latest episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race. I've had a blast chatting with many of the queens who call theatre their first love.
  • Broadway Jukebox - I love a good playlist and I find myself making them OFTEN. I've curated over 100 musical theatre playlists for BroadwayWorld (my personal favorite is "Female Anthems of Broadway"). Give them a listen and follow BroadwayWorld on Spotify to find out what I come up with next!
  • Broadway By Design - I created this series after realizing how little information is shared about the theatrical design process and it has become one of my favorite ongoing features.

MUSIQA Houston opens its 2012-13 season on September 22, 2012, with the world premiere of Deep Sky Objects by the internationally acclaimed American composer Sebastian Currier. Set to poetry by Sarah Manguso, whose libretto imagines an intergalactic romance, Deep Sky Objects is scored for soprano, piano quintet and electronics; the performance will feature soprano Karol Bennett. The program includes Divided and Scatter-brained from Currier's QuartetSet with the world premiere of choreography by Tina Bohnstedt, danced by Houston Ballet II; and Secret Alchemy for piano quartet by Pierre Jalbert , as well as a set of violin-piano preludes by Lera Auerbach.

Fountain Hills Theater is proud to announce the opening of the zany comedy farce Ashes to Ashes. When Broadway Director R.J. Spaulding wakes from a wild weekend binge, he discovers that he is engaged to three women who think he is alternately a peace activist, a Russian spy and a Mafioso hit man. With the help of his neighbor, lies pile upon lies as R.J. tries to keep the girls away from each other and his alimony hungry soon-to-be-ex-wife. Ashes to Ashes is a wild and funny farce written by Fountain Hills Theater's own Artistic Director, Peter J. Hill. The production premiered at Phoenix Theater in 1996 and was an immediate hit, receiving the 1996 AriZoni Award for Best Original Production.

Julian Ovenden and Rosalie Craig star in a new musical version of the film Finding Neverland, which starred Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet. The musical features Ovenden as Barrie, a role he played in two London workshops last winter, and Craig as Sylvia. The show will have a four to five week run scheduled at the Curve Theatre in Leicester. Performances will run through October 18, 2012.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Patrick Willingham) announced today that FUN HOME, a new musical with music by Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by Lisa Kron, will open the 2012-2013 season of the Public Lab, a program designed to connect audiences and artists in the process of creating new theater. Directed by Sam Gold, FUN HOME is based on the graphic novel by Alison Bechdel and will run Wednesday, October 17 through Sunday, November 4 in The Public's Shiva Theater. Member tickets are $12 and are on sale now. Single tickets, priced at $15, go on sale Tuesday, September 18.

James Feddeck, beginning his fourth season as assistant conductor of The Cleveland Orchestra, leads the ensemble in concerts at Severance Hall that open with Orchestral Excerpts from A Midsummer Night's Dream by Felix Mendelssohn. Cleveland Orchestra Principal Bassoon John Clouser is soloist in Mozart's Bassoon Concerto in B-flat major, K.191. After intermission, the program continues with the Love Scene from Hector Berlioz's Romeo and Juliet. The program concludes with Maurice Ravel's Suite No. 2 from Daphnis and Chloe. Performing with the Orchestra in the Ravel suite is the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, prepared by Cleveland Orchestra Director of Choruses Robert Porco and Assistant Director of Choruses Lisa Wong.
