BroadwayWorld is excited to announce that Turning the Tables will return EXCLUSIVELY to BroadwayWorld on April 11th after last year's hit debut season!

Earlier this week, the Broadway community came out to celebrate the release Speech & Debate, based on the critically acclaimed comedy by Tony Award winner Stephen Karam (The Humans). Directed by Dan Harris, the film stars Liam James, Sarah Steele, Austin P. McKenzie, Skylar Astin, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, and cameos by Broadway's biggest stars including Lin-Manuel Miranda and an original song performed by Kristin Chenoweth. It will be opening in theaters on April 7, 2017 and is now available on iTunes. 

The new cast recording of NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 ( now in performances at Broadway's Imperial Theatre) is on it's way! Details on the release of  forthcoming album, which will feature Josh Groban as 'Pierre' and Denee Benton as 'Natasha,' will be announced soon, but fans need wait no longer for a behind the scenes sneak peek!

On Monday March 20, TDF honored the entire production of Kinky Boots with a one-night-only concert TDF HONORS KINKY BOOTS to raise funds for TDF's access and education programs.  Composer Cyndi Lauper and director/choreographer Jerry Mitchell welcomed the crowd followed by performances by the show's original stars Billy Porter, Annaleigh Ashford and Stark Sands, former "Lolas" Todrick Hall and Alan Mingo, Jr.; former "Lauren"  Jeanna de Waal, former "Charlie" Andy Kelso, the entire current Broadway cast and "Angels' from previous casts.

Few things have been as highly anticipated as the national tour of the sweeping hit Hamilton, and now the show has officially kicked off in San Francisco.

The Broadway-bound, world premiere engagement of SOUSATZKA, with book by Craig Lucas, music by David Shire, and lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr., based on the original novel 'Madame Sousatzka' by Bernice Rubens, opens tonight in Toronto. Directed by Adrian Noble and choreographed by Graciela Daniele, the production stars Victoria Clark, Montego Glover, Judy Kaye and Jordan Barrow.

Multi platinum-selling Grammy and Tony nominated singer-songwriter and New York Times best-selling author Sara Bareilles, who composed the music and lyrics for the hit Broadway show Waitress, will make her Broadway acting debut on March 31 in the lead role of Jenna Hunterson for a limited engagement of 10 weeks, through June 11, 2017. Joining her are TV star Chris Diamantopoulos as Dr. Pomatter, who inspires the expert pie-maker to create an 'I Wanna Play Doctor with my Gynecologist' pie, and beloved Broadway leading man and Tony Award nominee Will Swenson as Earl, Jenna's ne'er-do-well husband.

Andrew Lloyd Webber has a lot to celebrate, with four shows currently running on Broadway- The Phantom of the Opera, School of Rock, Cats and Sunset Boulevard. Today also happens to be the legendary composer's birthday, and cast members from every one of his shows gathered to sing him a special birthday message!

Next up at Encores! is a lost gem- The New Yorkers, Cole Porter's 1930 Prohibition lark. The New Yorkers will star Cyrille Aimée, Clyde Alves, Todd Buonopane, Arnie Burton, Kevin Chamberlin, Mylinda Hull, Robyn Hurder, Byron Jennings, Eddie Korbich, Tam Mutu, Jeffrey Schecter, Scarlett Strallen, Tyler Lansing Weaks and Ruth Williamson.

Cirque du Soleil Theatrical's smash production of Cirque du Soleil Paramour, the organization's first created specifically for Broadway is in its final weeks on Broadway. As previously announced, Paramour is playing through April 16, 2017 at theLyric Theatre (213 West 42nd Street).

Andrew Keenan-Bolger and Jay Armstrong Johnson came together in a giddy, delightful duet of "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" from The Sound of Music. The pair gleefully gallivanted across the stage as a confident Johnson wooed the naive, innocent Keenan-Bolger through a charmingly updated romp through the classic.

As BroadwayWorld reported yesterday morning, as many have feared, the the Trump administration's budget plans will indeed eliminate the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities- the first time this has been proposed since their creation in 1965. Broadway Backwards on March, 13, 2017, where men sing songs intended for women and vice versa without changing pronouns, shattered fundraising records, bringing in an impressive $522,870 to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in New York City.

While the cast was on a break during tech, they joined together for an epic jam session and gave 'How I Saved Roosevelt' a pop update. Check it out below!

Roundabout Theatre Company presents Mark Ruffalo, Tony Shalhoub, Jessica Hecht and Danny DeVito in a new Broadway production of Arthur Miller's The Price, directed by Steppenwolf Theatre Company co-founder, Terry Kinney.Arthur Miller's The Price opens officially tonight, March 16, 2017.
