Nicole Rosky

Nicole is the Editor-in-Chief of BroadwayWorld, where she began her journey as an intern in 2010. As BroadwayWorld's Senior Managing Editor, a role she took on in 2012, she covered over a decade's-worth of theatre and live entertainment in New York City and around the world. Throughout her time with BroadwayWorld, Nicole has worked extensively with the photo and video team, producing (and sometimes editing) a great deal of the site's original programming, including Backstage with Richard Ridge, Dance Captain Dance Attack, Next on Stage, Kid Critics, and Teen Critics, just to name a few. Originally from outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is a proud graduate of Penn State University's College of Communications. Nicole currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where she gets to enjoy far more great theatre than she ever dreamed. Her first great role was "Billy Flynn" in her fourth grade musical theatre class. Oh, how far she has come!

  • Tony Nominee Reactions - I have had the pleasure of covering every Tony Awards season since 2011 and one of my favorite parts is hearing from the nominees just moments after they find out that they ARE nominees.
  • Theatre Queens - When I'm not at a Broadway show, you'll find me at home, catching up on the latest episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race. I've had a blast chatting with many of the queens who call theatre their first love.
  • Broadway Jukebox - I love a good playlist and I find myself making them OFTEN. I've curated over 100 musical theatre playlists for BroadwayWorld (my personal favorite is "Female Anthems of Broadway"). Give them a listen and follow BroadwayWorld on Spotify to find out what I come up with next!
  • Broadway By Design - I created this series after realizing how little information is shared about the theatrical design process and it has become one of my favorite ongoing features.
  • Next On Stage - Working on this project and having the opportunity to spotlight so many talented young people from around the country has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

Beginning May 11th, Sandy Duncan will star in Creating Claire, written by Joe DiPetro. David Saint will direct the production which will run through June 6th at George Street Playhouse.

Tim Robbins & Peter Sarsgaard Join Ryan Reynolds in 'Green Lantern' Film

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tim Robbins and Peter Sarsgaard will be joining Ryan Reynolds in the upcoming Green Lantern film. Based on the DC Comics superhero, the movie will be directed by Martin Campbell and is set to begin filming in New Orleans in March.

Generic Theater Presents DARWIN IN MALIBU, 3/26-4/18

Beginning March 26th, the Generic Theater will be performing Crispin Whittell's Darwin in Malibu at the Scope Theater. Pefromances will take place every Friday and Saturday at 8PM and Sundays at 2:30PM until April 18th. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and students.

Little Theatre of Norfolk Presents 12 ANGRY MEN, 3/5-3/21

Daniel Beaty Returns To THROUGH THE NIGHT, 3/16-4/4

Following his acclaimed run of Emergency in 2008, Obie and Ovation Award winner Daniel Beaty returns to the Geffen Playhosue with his new show Through the Night, which runs in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater from March 16 to April 4. Balboa Park Puppet Theater Presents CHU CHU THE DRAGON, 2/3-2-14

Middlebury Community Players Presents STILL LIFE, 2/18-2/21
February 5, 2010

The Middlebury Community Players will present an expanded version of Noel Coward's 'Still Life' at Town Hall Theater from February 18 through the 21st. The piece was originally written to be included in Coward's cycle of short plays 'Tonight at 8:30.' However, in 1945 Coward joined forces with film director David Lean to create the full length, heart rending love story, 'Brief Encounter.' For MCP's production, director Joann Langrock has adapted scenes from the film to the original one-act, taking her cue from the recent British revival of a staged version of 'Brief Encounter' currently touring the United States.

James Anthony Zoccoli, in association with Chicago DCA Theater, presents the world premiere of Wiggerlover [white boy + black dad = grey areas]. The autobiographical production by James Anthony Zoccoli comes to Chicago DCA Theater's Studio Theater in the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington Street, from February 5 - 22, 2010. MoMA Presents JIA ZHANGKE RETROSPECTIVE, 3/5-3/20

Jia Zhangke: A Retrospective is the first complete U.S. retrospective of this internationally celebrated contemporary filmmaker who, in little more than decade, has become one of cinema‘s most critically acclaimed artists and the leading figure of the sixth generation of Chinese filmmakers. The exhibition screens in The Roy and Niuta Titus Theaters from March 5 through 20, 2010, and includes Jia Zhangke‘s (Chinese, b. 1970) entire oeuvre: eight features and six shorts, dating from 1995 to 2008. The retrospective is organized by Jytte Jensen, Curator, Department of Film, The Museum of Modern Art.

"Naked" Polar Bear Cruise Hosts Fundraiser for Wildlife Conservation Society, 2/27

Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises and Coney Island Polar Bear Club are teaming up on Saturday, February 27th to host the second annual 'Naked' Polar Bear Cruise (bathing suit required) to benefit the Wildlife Conservation Society. Participating passengers are encouraged to strip down to their bathing suits and enjoy a frosty ride while they raise money to help WCS save wildlife and wild places around the globe.

Cincinnati Arts Association Presents 2010 Overture Awards, 2/27

The Cincinnati Arts Association (CAA) will be presenting the 2010 Overture Awards Scholarship Competition - the largest locally run arts scholarship competition in the country. The Overture Awards annually provides a $2,500 scholarship to six area high school students for education and training expenses, with 18 finalists each winning a $500 scholarship.
