On May 22, Tony and Emmy Award-winning actor, John Lithgow returns to Cleveland for a special one day only performance to benefit Great Lakes Theater Festival (GLTF) - the classic theater company that his father, Arthur Lithgow, helped to found nearly fifty years ago.

Tony Kushner's Angels in America has evolved from a play to a film, a TV series and now an opera. Making its UK debut, composer Péter Eötvös sates, 'In the opera version, I put less emphasis on the political line than Kushner...I rather focus on the passionate relationships, on the highly dramatic suspense of the wonderful text, on the permanently uncertain state of the visions.'

Following Sunday night's Olivier Awards, a rush of Tweets wondered if Spring Awakening might be revived due to its success. 'Dancing with the Stars' kicked off its 10th season last night on ABC with 11 stars hoping to make a big impression from the get go. Cornelia Street Cafe has announced their schedule of events for this weekend. Located between West 4th and Bleeker Streets, Cornelia Street Cafe was from the beginning an artists' café. Within a month there were poetry readings and music performances; and then a tiny play written for the café; and fiction writers; and Eskimo poetry; and puppeteers; and a living portrait of James Joyce; and the Four Quartets and the entire Iliad; and mime shows on the street outside the café; and comedians; and fairy tales and storytellers and Punch and Judy shows.

According to EW.com, Broadway veteran Ty Burrell and his wife Holly have adopted a baby girl.

New York Theatre Barn presents Bailey Hanks and Briana Carlson-Goodman in Speargrove Presents- a new musical based on actual events. With direction by Joe Barros & Laura Brandel the production will celebrate New York Theatre Barn's 3rd Anniversary with this special one-night only benefit. Speargrove Presents will take place on April 5 at 8 PM at the Julia Miles Theatre. Speargrove Presents is the product of UNTITLED 4: Project Collaboration.

According to Variety, the Denver Center Theater Company's 2010-2011 season will include two world premieres written by Ken Weitzman and Michele Lowe: The Catch and Map of Heaven. Both plays had readings in February as a part of DCTC's Colorado New Play Summit.

A staged reading of Dutchess featuring Mary Bacon, John Daggett, Francesca Faridany, Delphi Harrington, David Landon, Alex Morf, Alexander Sovronsky, Elliot Villar, and Nick Westrate will take place at the Theater at St. Clement's on Monday, March 22 at 7:30pm.

According to the LA Times, The Pasadena Playhouse, which closed its doors on February 7 due to financial troubles, is in the process of making decisions regarding their future legal scenario. Aiming to eventually return to the boards, Pasadena Playhouse is currently $2 million in debt.

On Sunday, March 28, Ann Harada, Raymond J. Lee, Deborah Lew, Jose Llana, Ann Sanders, and Christine Toy Johnson, will celebrate the DVD release of 'Transcending - The Wat Misaka Story' with a benefiit concert for the film. The event will take place at the Laurie Beechman Theatre at 9:30pm.
