Nicole Rosky

Nicole is the Editor-in-Chief of BroadwayWorld, where she began her journey as an intern in 2010. As BroadwayWorld's Senior Managing Editor, a role she took on in 2012, she covered over a decade's-worth of theatre and live entertainment in New York City and around the world. Throughout her time with BroadwayWorld, Nicole has worked extensively with the photo and video team, producing (and sometimes editing) a great deal of the site's original programming, including Backstage with Richard Ridge, Dance Captain Dance Attack, Next on Stage, Kid Critics, and Teen Critics, just to name a few. Originally from outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is a proud graduate of Penn State University's College of Communications. Nicole currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where she gets to enjoy far more great theatre than she ever dreamed. Her first great role was "Billy Flynn" in her fourth grade musical theatre class. Oh, how far she has come!

  • Tony Nominee Reactions - I have had the pleasure of covering every Tony Awards season since 2011 and one of my favorite parts is hearing from the nominees just moments after they find out that they ARE nominees.
  • Theatre Queens - When I'm not at a Broadway show, you'll find me at home, catching up on the latest episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race. I've had a blast chatting with many of the queens who call theatre their first love.
  • Broadway Jukebox - I love a good playlist and I find myself making them OFTEN. I've curated over 100 musical theatre playlists for BroadwayWorld (my personal favorite is "Female Anthems of Broadway"). Give them a listen and follow BroadwayWorld on Spotify to find out what I come up with next!
  • Broadway By Design - I created this series after realizing how little information is shared about the theatrical design process and it has become one of my favorite ongoing features.
  • Next On Stage - Working on this project and having the opportunity to spotlight so many talented young people from around the country has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

After record-breaking off-Broadway, Los Angeles, Chicago, Florida and Toronto runs, Bryan Fogel, the co-creator and star of JEWTOPIA, finally makes his Charlotte stage debut alongside Jeremy Rishe (his co-star in Jewtopia) with WORLD OF JEWTOPIA. The hilarious and irreverent duo perform at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center's Booth Playhouse beginning Friday, October 1-3 before heading back to Broadway in the fall 2011. Bocelli Kicks of Tour at Madison Square Garden, 12/2

Andrea Bocelli will be returning to the U.S. for a special concert tour kicking off Thursday, December 2nd at New York City's famed Madison Square Garden. The six-city engagement comes on the heels of a CD/DVD deluxe package release of My Christmas, available everywhere November 9th on Sugar/Decca. The deluxe package will include 2009's double-platinum CD smash, My Christmas, along with the PBS live DVD concert of the same name filmed with multiple Grammy-winning producer David Foster.

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center has announced the start of its Open Submission Process for projects to be considered for development during the 2011 National Playwrights Conference. Plays from applicants for the National Playwrights Conference will be accepted from Monday, September 20 through Friday, October 22, 2010. Early submissions are strongly encouraged.

Theatre Resources Unlimited Holds TRU Bootcamp, 9/26

To this end, Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) presents a powerful full-day TRU Boot Camp to help theater professionals (and others) shape up their ideas and turn them into reality: PITCHING & PRESENTATION SKILLS, A One-Day Workshop for Producers, Writers and Anyone with an Idea to Sell! taught by a lineup of experts including marketing professional Sharon Albert, Ph.D. and presentation coach Gillien Goll. Mutter and Orkis Record Brahm's 3 Violin Sonatas, 10/12

Acclaimed violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter returns to recording chamber music after two highly successful albums devoted primarily to concertos (Mendelssohn and Bach & Gubaidulina) and also returns to Brahms, a composer who has meant much to her over the years. Mutter is joined by longtime partner Lambert Orkis with whom she previously recorded the complete Beethoven sonatas, and the two reveal the musical benefits of frequent collaboration. This new recording will be available October 12, 2010 in both CD and DVD formats.

Best-selling rock band Goo Goo Dolls reaffirm their position as one of America's most beloved rock bands with the Top 10 debut of their new studio album Something For The Rest Of Us. Released on August 31st, Something for the Rest of Us debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart last week. In conjunction with its release, the band performed their current single, 'Home,' on NBC's The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on September 1st.

The Meyer Rossabi Band brings it's hard rocking electric blues to New York City with a special performance at 'Take Back New York' at Sullivan Hall on Thursday, September 23rd. The Meyer Rossabi Band will feature guitarist Meyer Rossabi, Frankie Cheez on bass, and drummer Paul Kane. This special live performance will feature songs from Rossabi's CD Just A Little Taste of the Blues, as well as tracks from Rossabi's upcoming release, Blues Is The Color.

Ensemble du Monde Opens Season with NIGHT PRAYERS, 10/2

Ensemble du Monde, led by Marlon Daniel, celebrates the opening of its 2010/11 season on Saturday October 2, 2010 at 8:00 pm in Merkin Concert Hall, Kaufmann Center for the Arts. This first concert of the year, entitled 'Night Prayers', features clarinet virtuoso Julian Milkis as soloist and renowned musicologist and author Solomon Volkov as guest host.
