Emerging Artists Theatre, the company that produced last season's hit Penny Penniworth, presents the Off-Broadway premiere of The Sensational Josephine Baker, a rich, comedic, moving musical portrait of the unique iconic Jazz Age legend, Josephine Baker. Preview performances began Tuesday, September 7th, opening night will be Tuesday, September 14 and the play will run through Sunday, October 3rd at TADA Theatre, 15 West 28th Street, 2nd floor, between Broadway and 5th Avenue. Show times are: Tuesday and Friday at 7pm; Wednesday and Sunday at 2pm; and Saturday at 5pm and 9pm. Accoring to a report by Baz Bamigboye in UK Daily Mail, Australian choreographer Ashley Wallen, is set to choreograph the upcoming musical version of Ghost. Wallen is perhaps best known for his work with Kylie Minogue and DanceX. Wallen has also with stars such as The Sugababes, Will Young and Mariah Carey. This will be the first time he has worked on a musical theatre piece.

According to a report by Baz Bamigboye in UK Daily Mail, the upcoming West End production of Shrek will receive many changes before opening at Theatre Royal. The cast will be lead by Nigel Lindsey as Shrek, Nigel Harman as Lord Farquaad, Richard Blackwood as Donkey, and Amanda Holden as Princess Fiona.

According to a report by Baz Bamigboye in UK Daily Mail, Eddie Redmayne has been chosen to star in an upcoming Marilyn Monroe movie, in which he will play Monroe's caretaker. He will join Michelle Williams who is set to play Monroe in My Week With Marilyn. Filming is set to begin in ten days.

The Bob Baker Marionette Theater continues its 50th anniversary season with 'Bob Baker's Halloween Hoop-Dee-Do' playing October 2-31, 2010. As a special treat for 'Back To Schoolers' of all ages, the Theater will also offer a $5 discount on every ticket purchased for this special production.

Jose Manuel Carreño, a Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre since 1995, will retire from the Company in August 2011 following performances on the Company's tour to Asia. A New York farewell is scheduled for Thursday evening, June 30, 2011 at the Metropolitan Opera House. The evening will be highlighted by a special performance of Swan Lake featuring Carreño in the role of Prince Siegfried dancing opposite Julie Kent as Odette and Gillian Murphy as Odile.

Tracy Letts' masterpiece, August: Osage County, has won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, multiple Tony awards and accolades around the world, including Time magazine's declaration that it's The Play of the Decade. Now, in its regional premiere, August has accomplished something that never happened before - a collaboration between Dayton's own professional theatre company, The Human Race, and Wright State Theatre on a production at Wright State's Festival Theatre.

On Friday, October 15 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, Steven Reineke leads The New York Pops in the first concert of their 2010-2011 Carnegie Hall season with a program saluting pop music super group ABBA, featuring the acclaimed Finnish vocal ensemble Rajaton. Together, they will present energetic performances of some of ABBA's most popular chart-topping hits including 'Dancing Queen,' 'Mamma Mia,' 'Take a Chance on Me,' and other favorites. The New York Pops returns to Carnegie Hall for six additional performances this season-including three holiday performances.

Prescott Fine Arts Association begins its 2010 - 2011 Season of Readers Theater presentations, in association with the Prescott Public Library, with the American classic, SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 26th, located at the Prescott Public Library. The play is written by Edgar Lee Masters, adapted by Charles Aidman and directed by Herb Voss. Admission is free though donations are appreciated.
