Nicole Rosky

Nicole is the Editor-in-Chief of BroadwayWorld, where she began her journey as an intern in 2010. As BroadwayWorld's Senior Managing Editor, a role she took on in 2012, she covered over a decade's-worth of theatre and live entertainment in New York City and around the world. Throughout her time with BroadwayWorld, Nicole has worked extensively with the photo and video team, producing (and sometimes editing) a great deal of the site's original programming, including Backstage with Richard Ridge, Dance Captain Dance Attack, Next on Stage, Kid Critics, and Teen Critics, just to name a few. Originally from outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is a proud graduate of Penn State University's College of Communications. Nicole currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where she gets to enjoy far more great theatre than she ever dreamed. Her first great role was "Billy Flynn" in her fourth grade musical theatre class. Oh, how far she has come!

  • Tony Nominee Reactions - I have had the pleasure of covering every Tony Awards season since 2011 and one of my favorite parts is hearing from the nominees just moments after they find out that they ARE nominees.
  • Theatre Queens - When I'm not at a Broadway show, you'll find me at home, catching up on the latest episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race. I've had a blast chatting with many of the queens who call theatre their first love.
  • Broadway Jukebox - I love a good playlist and I find myself making them OFTEN. I've curated over 100 musical theatre playlists for BroadwayWorld (my personal favorite is "Female Anthems of Broadway"). Give them a listen and follow BroadwayWorld on Spotify to find out what I come up with next!
  • Broadway By Design - I created this series after realizing how little information is shared about the theatrical design process and it has become one of my favorite ongoing features.
  • Next On Stage - Working on this project and having the opportunity to spotlight so many talented young people from around the country has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.


Fox Theatre Welcomes MADAGASCAR LIVE, 4/29-5/1

DreamWorks Theatricals and Broadway Across America today announced that they have partnered to launch 'Madagascar Live,' DreamWorks Theatricals' first-ever live family touring show. The production is expected to visit over 70 cities across the United States beginning in January 2011, including a stop at Detroit's Fox Theatre from Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1. The brand new stage show aimed at family audiences stars the cast of popular characters from the beloved Madagascar film series, including Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the Hippo and members of the madcap Madagascar crew, King Julien and the crafty Penguins.

LES MISERABLES 25th Anniversary Concert Gets 11/17 US Screening

The longest running musical of all time, Les Misérables, will sweep U.S. audiences off their feet in a special one-night, in-theater event on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 7:30 p.m. local time. Presented by NCM Fathom, Omniverse Vision and Cameron Mackintosh, in association with The Broadway League and Nederlander/First, Les Misérables in Concert - The 25th Anniversary Event was recorded live from London's famous O2 theater on Oct. 3 and will be broadcast to nearly 500 select U.S. theaters this November. Featuring the bravura songs 'I Dreamed a Dream,' 'On My Own,' 'Stars,' 'Bring Him Home' and more, the Les Misérables tribute concert marks the 25th anniversary of the musical and reunites the magnificent casts who have performed the 'people's musical' on the world's stages for over two decades. This one-time tribute will also include a special performance from teen sensation Nick Jonas to mark this momentous 25th anniversary concert celebration.

Voting Begins for People's Choice Awards

Voting has begun at www.PeoplesChoice.com to determine the nominees for PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011, the only major awards show where fans - not industry insiders - completely determine the nominees and winners across categories of music, movies and television. Starting today, fans can vote on 40 categories, including Favorite Country Artist, Favorite Action Movie and Favorite TV Comedy. The top five nominees in each category will be announced on Nov. 9, 2010 at The London West Hollywood Hotel during the annual People's Choice Awards press conference. PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011 will be broadcast Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011 (9:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.
