The cast of the new Australian stage play BARASSI have begun rehearsals. After years of planning, months of casting and weeks of nervous energy the full cast and crew are thrilled to finally all be together to start the BARASSI journey.

An acrobat has been murdered at a party given by the manically depressive former musical comedy star, Dotty Moore, to celebrate the accession of a new Radical Liberal government. Her husband George, an ageing professor of moral philosophy, attempts to rehearse a lecture while ignoring the nearby corpse as his wife entertains his university boss and a chorus of gymnasts from the philosophy department. What follows is a murder mystery thriller displaying Tom Stoppard's verbal ingenuity within an anarchic comical setting of adultery, gymnastics and moon landings.

The smash hit musical MAMMA MIA! will be holding a special Gala performance in support of BBC Children in Need at the show's new home, the Novello Theatre, on Wednesday 12 September 2012. The night will include special guest appearances by BBC Radio 2 presenters Vanessa Feltz, Anneka Rice and Penny Smith. A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of orchestra seats will be held for WICKED at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts with performances from August 29 - October 7. Two and one-half hours prior to each performance, people who present themselves at the The Smith Center box office will have their names placed in a lottery drum; thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for a limited number of orchestra seats at $25 each, cash only. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person. Lottery participants must have a valid photo ID when submitting their entry form, if chosen, when purchasing tickets.

Torrington, CT -On Friday, August 24 and Saturday, August 25, the Warner Theatre in association with Prime Time House will present Michael Ullman's Truly Dually. Truly Dually is a play about the respect and dignity that all individuals deserve and fight to maintain, even in conditions of despair; it addresses stereotypes and misconceptions about the population of individuals who experience homelessness and mental illness. Above all, Truly Dually is a simple morality tale layered in metaphor and wit that depicts the spirit, generosity and humanity of those living on the streets, and the responsibility that all citizens share in understanding their plight and working to end this grave social problem.

The Ridgefield Theater Barn is thrilled to present Spring Awakening, book & lyrics by Steven Sater, music by Duncan Sheik, presented through special arrangement by Music Theatre International, as the opening to their 47th Season, Friday, September 7th at 8pm. The production, directed by Alicia Dempster, choreographed by Regina Sweeney, musical direction by Sam Sultan, and produced by Wayne Leiss, will be presented Friday and Saturday evenings at 8pm September 7th through October 6th, with Sunday matinees September 16th, 23rd and 30th at 5pm.
