League of Chicago Theatres Launches Storefront Playwright Project

In the inaugural Storefront Playwright Project, the League of Chicago Theatres will provide window space at Expo 72 for emerging and established playwrights to work on a current writing project in view of the public in collaboration with the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events. From a large screen in a window facing the sidewalk, the public will be able to read what the playwright is writing and watch the creation of the next great Chicago play in real time. The Storefront Playwright Project will take place at Expo72 located at 72 E. Randolph St. in downtown Chicago, December 4 - 22, 2012, Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Ann Hampton Callaway joins the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra for the NJSO's first pops program of the season-"Holidays with the NJSO"-December 15 in Newark and December 16 in New Brunswick. Cincinnati Pops conductor John Morris Russell, who last led the NJSO in a classical program in March 2012, conducts the holiday program, which also features the Masterwork Chorus.

Infinity will present the world premiere of a unique and inspiring theater work that includes dance, music, and the spoken word that grew out of a relationship between the company and The Creative Center (Arts in Healthcare). Conceived and created by Kitty Lunn, The Women's Stories Project features five amazing women, with courage and resourcefulness to spare, who tell their stories of love, loss, illness, and aging. Depressing? Not at all. The 75-minute work is just the opposite - it's funny, sad, ironic, and unexpected. It will play November 17th and 18th.

The album is the first in a three-part series of studio recordings based on her challenging and inventive recital series that explores the history of the solo violin repertoire from Bach's six Sonatas and Partitas to modern day composers including newly commissioned works. DESCRIPTION: FOOD FOR THOUGHT PRODUCTIONS, the Award-Winning Theatre Company, is returning to its former home at the Players in Gramercy Park for another exciting season this fall. The opening show on Wednesday, October 31st will feature excerpts from 'THE ROUND TABLE' written by award-winning playwright Susan Charlotte and Oscar, Tony and Emmy Award winner Peter Stone, starring Penny Fuller and directed by Antony Marsellis. The play, which revolves around the lives of Dorothy Parker, George Kaufman, Robert Benchley, Robert Sherwood and Alexander Woollcott, is both entertaining and poignant, capturing the wit and the sadness of this very special time at the Algonquin Hotel. Another exciting addition to this program is Anne Kaufman, the daughter of George Kaufman. This unique program will be followed by a Q and A.
