Irondale Presents COLOR BETWEEN THE LINES, 9/13-20September 10, 2012BROOKLYN, NY - Brooklyn's first festival to showcase the borough's emerging artists in theater, dance, and voice will premiere this fall and features, among other cutting edge artists, the Irondale Ensemble who will be performing in their beautiful home, the Irondale Center and other venues across the borough. David T. Little DOG DAYS OPERA Premieres at Alexander Kasser Theater 9/29-10/7September 10, 2012On Saturday, September 29, David T. Little's long-awaited debut full-length opera, Dog Days, created in collaboration with librettist Royce Vavrek, and based on the eponymous short story by Judy Budnitz (1998), receives its world premiere, opening a run of five performances: Sep. 29, Oct. 6 at 8:00 PM; Sep. 30, Oct. 7 at 3:00 PM; Oct. 5 at 7:30 PM. The fully-staged production, directed by Robert Woodruff, premieres at Montclair State University's Alexander Kasser Theater in Montclair, NJ.
Penumbra Announces Spring Season Steps Up to Latest Fiscal ChallengesSeptember 6, 2012Penumbra Theatre Company announced today that it has decided to temporarily suspend programming due to an immediate cash flow challenge. If the fall fundraising efforts are successful, Penumbra will present SPUNK, an adaptation by George C. Wolfe of three tales by Zora Neale Hurston in March 2013 along with the popular Let's Talk Theatre and REEL Talk events. However, strong dedicated support for the Penumbra Summer Institute, a three-year arts education and leadership training program, will enable that program to continue as scheduled.

Contributing creative arrangements is Dain's frequent collaborator, Musical Director Kathleen Landis. The multi-award winning director/entertainer Lennie Watts directs. Performances are Saturdays, September 8 & 15 at 7pm, and Fridays, September 21 & 28 at 7pm.
