When the producers of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, EMHE, decided to completely rebuild the 300 year old cabin of Trisha Urban and her baby Cora into the fairytale inspired home of their dreams, the local Tilden Township community in Hamburg, PA hastened together to volunteer food, labor, and emotional support. Trisha and Cora were left alone and in serious debt when Trisha's husband died suddenly of a congenital heart defect.

The Levine JCC of Charlotte will hold open auditions for adults (18 years and up) for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat by Andrew Lloyd Webber on Sunday, August 29th. Auditions will take place at the Levine JCC, 5006 Providence Rd, in Gorelick Hall.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Turner Classic Movies today announced the three finalists for the 'Atlanta Symphony Songster 2010' amateur vocal competition. They are: Joseph Brewer (Columbus, GA), Rebekah Dossou (Lilburn, GA), and Christina Lewis (Cincinnati, OH). Their YouTube.com video-entries are currently available on the Orchestra's website here. The three finalists will sing 'Over the Rainbow' with the Orchestra prior to the start of the The Wizard of Oz concert on Saturday, August 14, 2010 - the competition will also be streamed live on UStream.com. Audience members will select the winner by text message or by online voting. Winners will be announced at intermission of the concert by Turner Classic Movies' own Ben Mankiewicz.

Rehearsals are now underway for the Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) New York premiere of Edward Albee's ME, MYSELF & I, a new play by the three-time Pulitzer Prize and three-time Tony Award winner (A Delicate Balance; Seascape; Three Tall Women; Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?; The Goat or, Who Is Sylvia?). Village Originals has announced the official selections for the 10th Annual Festival of New Musicals taking place August 12-15, 2010 at the Francis J. Gaudette Theatre in Issaquah.
