The Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning Keen Company (Carl Forsman, Artistic Director/Wayne Kelton, Executive Director) today announced their 10th anniversary season celebrating the work of Michael Frayn, author of such acclaimed hits as Noises Off and Copenhagen. First will be the US premiere of Alphabetical Order, based on the revised version performed at the Hampstead Theater for their 2009 revival. Mr. Forsman will direct. This will be followed by the 25th Anniversary production of Benefactors this spring.

Westport Public Library is pleased to announce that The Malloy Lecture in the Arts will be held on Thursday, September 16, at 7:00 pm. The event will take place at Westport Country Playhouse (25 Powers Court, Westport). Entitled 'The Malloy Lecture in the Arts: Remembering Archie (Archibald MacLeish-The Poet and the Man), as told by Christopher Plummer,' the evening will feature Emmy and Tony award-winning actor Christopher Plummer, who will combine MacLeish's poetry with his personal reminiscences of the poet. In addition, Plummer will be interviewed by Westport Country Playhouse Artistic Advisor Anne Keefe about his own career and memoir, 'In Spite of Myself.'

The leading Italian musical comedy theatrical Production Company, Compagnia della Rancia in collaboration with Queens-based Incanto Productions LLC and The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College, announced the American debut of 'PINOCCHIO The Italian Musical' for one week only October 19 - 23, 2010.

Throughout September, HOWL! Arts Project and The Actors Fund present HOWL! ARTS PROJECT 2010, a month-long series of theater, performance art, music, poetry, film, entertainment for and by kids, and much more at Theatre 80 (80 St. Marks Place). Proceeds benefit HOWL! The New York premiere of PLAY DEAD, a new Off-Broadway thriller co-written and directed by Teller (of Penn & Teller) and co-written & performed by Todd Robbins, will begin performances at Off-Broadway's Players Theater (115 MacDougal Street at Minetta Lane) on Thursday, October 21 for an open-ended run. The official press opening is slated for Wednesday, November 10.

Now playing at venues across Northern NSW, Janis Balodis' new play Engine is leaving its mark with its poignant story of human resilience, after a community is rocked by a fatal car crash. It's about kids and cars; how we hurt and how we heal.

Set in Ireland's County Donegal in 1936, DANCING AT LUGHNASA is a memory play told from the point of view of the adult Michael Evans. He recounts that summer spent in his aunts' cottage when he was seven years old, when love briefly seemed possible for three of his aunts and the family welcomed home their frail elder brother, returning from a life as missionary in Africa. The play takes place around the festival of Lughnasa, the festival of the first fruits, when the harvest is welcomed. Whether Michael's family will reap a bountiful or bitter harvest remains a question until the very end.

The New London Maritime Society is bringing two special exhibits to the Custom House Maritime Museum. One exhibit is about Captian Nathaniel Brown Palmer, the other is the New London's Regional Multicultural Magnet School's Selborne Project. The Friends of Fort Trumbull will also present John Ruddy, to discuss 'The Parade, the Gateway to New London.'

Blues guitar legend Paul Ubana Jones plays at Downstage this month with a spine tingling solo concert. A French cabaret artist in the Bay area for more than two decades, Judy specializes in the chansons of Edith Piaf -- mixing Piaf's beloved classics with lesser-known gems. Judy's program, sung mostly in French, will take you back to WWII era Paris.

After its triumph in Asia and Europe, including 16 sold-out performances in London, the international smash hit, 'The Merchants of Bollywood' is set to mesmerize North America with its premiere performances at Chicago's Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University (50 E Congress Pkwy) this October, for two performances only Friday, Oct. 1 and Saturday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m.

Work of Art: Abdi Farah, an exhibition of work by the winner of Work of Art, Bravo's hour-long creative competition 10-part television series among contemporary artists will open to the public on Saturday August 14. This exhibition, which will be on view at the Brooklyn Museum through October 17, 2010, highlights ten artworks recently created in a variety of media by Abdi Farah.
