Jeremy Dutcher is a Toronto-based performer, composer, and classically trained operatic tenor. He is also a member of the Wolastoq First Nation indigenous community and will release his debut album, Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonaw (Our Maliseets Songs), on April 6th, 2018. The album is a collection of 'collaborative' compositions that blend Jeremy's ancestors archival recordings with both classic and contemporary influences. The result transcends musical boundaries: dramatic, infused with emotion and reverence for the songs of his home, sweeping piano solos and stunning vocals.
Avalanche tells the story of a librarian (Savante), his wife (Withers) and her lover (Emery) who after becoming trapped in a house together must navigate the chaotic fallout of their indiscretions. Directed by Todd L. Green and lensed by Sharad Kant Patel, the dark comedy was filmed in Houston, Texas and is brought to the screen by Willoughby Movie Company in association with Lucky Otter Productions. Timothy Brennen rounds out the cast. Avalanche is produced by Stelio Savante (Jo, The Medicine Runner), Autumn Withers (Modern Family) and Gideon Emery (Teen Wolf) and executive produced by Todd L. Green and Neil Sandilands (The Flash).

Last July, pianist-composer-arranger Ricardo Bacelar jetted from his home in Brazil to Miami, the place he calls “the center of Latin music in the world,” where he gathered an ensemble of Latin American musicians to honor the roots of Brazilian music while incorporating each musician's unique culture on a jazz-centered album. An ambitious vision that he conceived with an international view with the project's producer, Cesar Lemos (Ricky Martin, Paulina Rubio), the 15-track “Sebastiana” drops March 30 from Bacelar Productions. Preceding the sprawling set list of hallmark Brazilian reinterpretations and originals written or co-written by Bacelar is the ethereal “Nothing Will Be As It Was,” featuring two Americans - vocalist Maye Osorio and pedal steel guitarist Steve Hinson.

From Friday, March 16 through Thursday, March 22 BAMcinématek explores the work of Chicano and Chicana filmmakers. The Chicano Movement of the 1960s was a time of Mexican-American political activism and a cultural renaissance in which Chicano filmmakers were emboldened to tell their own stories. The filmmakers who emerged in the 1970s and 80s represented a community that had been ignored in mainstream cinema. The series begins with trailblazing writer-director Luis Valdez, who marched on the picket lines with Caesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta, debut film Zoot Suit (1981—Mar 16), the film adaptation of the stage musical about the 1940s Los Angeles Zoot Suit Riots, was also the first Mexican-American film to be produced by a major studio. The series also includes Valdez's musical biopic of rock 'n' roll legend Ritchie Valens La Bamba (1987—Mar 17). The series also includes three films directed by Gregory Nava: El Norte (1983—Mar 18), the first independent film to be nominated for the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, about a brother and sister who escape political violence in Guatemala to make a new life for themselves in America; Mi Familia (1995—Mar 22), which follows three generations of a Mexican-American family in Los Angeles and starring Jimmy Smits; and Selena (1997—Mar 17), the biopic of Selena Quintanilla that made Jennifer Lopez a star.

Greer joins Golden Globe® winner Jim Carrey, in Carrey's first series regular role in more than two decades, along with Oscar®, Emmy® and Golden Globe nominee Catherine Keener (Get Out) and Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Frank Langella (Frost/Nixon).
