Marvel Studios has begun principal photography in Los Angeles, California, on its newest film, “Captain Marvel.” The production is shooting in and around the greater Los Angeles area, which will also serve as the production base for the film. The production will also shoot on location in Fresno, California, as well as locations in Louisiana, including Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

Deadline has exclusively reported, Tony-winning actor Ben Platt (Dear Evan Hansen), The Vampire Diaries alum Nina Dobrev, and Mena Massoud, star of Disney's live-action Aladdinfilm, have signed on to topline the drama pic Run This Town, along with Emmy winner Damian Lewis (Billions, Homeland). The film was written by Ricky Tollman, who will also direct the piece, marking his feature directorial debut.

One Day at a Time has been renewed for Season 3. Thirteen half-hour episodes, coming in 2019. Returning cast includes Justina Machado, Rita Moreno, Todd Grinnell, Stephen Toblowsky, Isabella Gomez and Marcel Ruiz. Executive Producers include Norman Lear, co-creators/co-showrunners Gloria Calderon Kellett and Mike Royce, Michael Garcia and Brent Miller. Produced by Sony Pictures Television for Netflix.

According to Deadline, Margot Robbie and her LuckyChap Entertainment (I, Tonya) is partnering with the Australian Broadcasting Company, Aussie production company Hoodlum (Secrets & Lies) and ABC Studios International on a new ten-part series, retelling the work of Shakespeare from female perspectives. The project, currently in development, will be produced in Australia, with filming expected to begin in 2018.
