Debuting October 6-7th in Downtown Los Angeles, the first annual Adult Swim Festival has announced an additional 24 musical and comedy artists will join hip-hop powerhouse Run The Jewels for this one-of-a-kind fan experience. A cultural festival like no other, the weekend will feature all things Adult Swim with more headliners continuing to be announced leading up to the weekend.

According to Deadline, The X-Files star Gillian Anderson is to star in Netflix's sex therapy original Sex Education. Anderson is set to star as a sex therapist in the series, which is produced by British production company Eleven Film.

Netflix has picked up the film Lost Girls. Amy Ryan will star in the true-crime story that is based on Robert Kolker's award-winning book of the same name. It will be directed by Liz Garbus, the Oscar-nominated documentarian who is making her narrative feature debut with the film.

James Alex of Philadelphia's fiery punk project Beach Slang has revealed the newQuiet Slang “Future Mixtape for The Art Kids' video. Prop Store – one of the world's leading film and TV memorabilia companies has today announced it is to hold its first cinema poster live auction this June with the posters on offer expected to fetch in excess of £250,000. The auction is to be held at London's ODEON BFI IMAX, Europe's largest cinema chain.

For his debut documentary, QUEST, director Jonathan Olshefski spent nearly a decade chronicling the daily triumphs and tragedies of the Raineys, a working class African-American family in North Philadelphia. The father, Christopher “Quest” Rainey, is a local music producer and promoter who hosts a popular freestyle session for aspiring rappers in his home basement studio; the mother, Christine'a “Ma Quest” Rainey, works night shifts at a homeless shelter; and their spirited adolescent daughter, Patricia “PJ” Rainey, is a daddy's girl who loves to play basketball.

CMT today announced that tickets will go on presale on May 18 and general sale on May 19 for the “2018 CMT Music Awards,” premiering LIVE on Wednesday, June 6 at 8pm ET/PT from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. Hosted byLittle Big Town, the “2018 CMT Music Awards” is country's only entirely fan-voted awards show. The Les Paul Foundation, whose mission is to honor and share the life, spirit and legacy of Les Paul through the generations has announced multi-GRAMMY Award winning composer, producer, arranger and guitarist, Nile Rodgers, to be honored with the third annual Les Paul Spirit Award at this year's Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival.  The award will be presented to Rodgers on Saturday, June 9th, 2018, the same day Les Paul would have turned 103 years old. Previous recipients of the prestigious Les Paul Spirit Award were Grateful Dead founding member Bob Weir (2016) and U2's The Edge (2017).

Great Performances: The Opera House, the new documentary by multiple Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Susan Froemke (Grey Gardens; Lalee's Kin: The Legacy of Cotton) surveys a remarkable period of the Metropolitan Opera's rich history and a time of great change for New York City. Drawing on rarely seen archival footage, stills and recent interviews, the film chronicles the creation of the Met's storied Lincoln Center home of the last 50 years, set against a backdrop of the artists, architects and politicians who shaped the cultural life of New York City in the 1950s and 60s. Among the notable figures featured in the film are famed soprano Leontyne Price, who opened the Met's present Opera House in 1966 with a starring role in Samuel Barber's Antony and Cleopatra; Rudolf Bing, the Met's imperious general manager who engineered the move from the old house to the new one; Robert Moses, the unstoppable city planner who bulldozed an entire neighborhood to make room for Lincoln Center; and Wallace Harrison, whose quest for architectural glory was never fully realized.

Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Sammy Strittmatter is set to release his ambitious fourth full-length album, Get Out of the City, on Palo Santo Records on May 18, 2018. Strittmatter, who has recorded and produced all of his records, got help on this outing from producer/label co-founder Salim Nourallah (Old 97's, Nicholas Altobelli, The Damnwells, Rhett Miller).
