Billy Butler and his band the Monster Makers return to Joe's Pub for another concert of the pop/rock musical hit, GayBride of Frankenstein, Easter Sunday April 24th at 7:30pm.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today that Michael Shannon will star in the role of General Zod in director Zack Snyder's new Superman film, titled 'Man of Steel.'

The trailer has been released for Daniel Radcliffe's upcoming film, 'The Woman in Black,' based on Susan Hill's novel of the same name. The Woman in Black film adaptation was overseen by Jane Goldman.

Surfside Players, Cocoa Beach, is excited to announce OPEN AUDITIONS for the winner of its 2011 Playwriting Contest, AS EASY AS PIE, an original full-length comedy by John Jordan of Cocoa, FL. A jealous wife gets revenge on her husband who seems to be hitting on his secretary. The director will be announced on our website April 12.

Lisa Howard, one of the stars of William Finn's The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, will perform a concert at Birdland on Monday, April 11 at 7pm. This event will be part of the Broadway at Birdland concert series, which showcases performers and composers from the Great White Way.

On Saturday, April 8 Helen Mirren hosted Saturday Night Love. Her opening monologue turned into a parody to SOUTH PACIFIC's 'There is Nothing Like a Dame.'

On April 4th, 2011, the Los Angeles Theatre Ensemble was awarded a Special Citation at the LA Weekly Awards at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. The award, which was created specifically for the Ensemble's War Cycle plays, was award for 'breadth of vision and clarity of purpose by an ensemble'.
