Barbara Feldon, best known for her Emmy-nominated work on the hit TV series 'Get Smart' and recently seen Off-Broadway in 'Love, Loss & What I Wore,' visited the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) to see Off-Broadway's MANIPULATION, a new play by Victoria E. Calderon, directed by Will Pomerantz.

Manhattan Theatre Club's new Broadway production of Terrence McNally's MASTER CLASS, directed by Stephen Wadsworth, opens tonight at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street). American Opera Projects (AOP) and Opera New Jersey reunite sopranos Lauren Flanigan and Catherine Malfitano in The Family Room, a new one-act opera written especially for them by composer Thomas Pasatieri (The Seagull ) with an original libretto by Daphne Malfitano. The dark drama tells the story of two nameless women living in a windowless studio who speak of dinner parties and relatives, of husbands and love and a child named Georgie, but their only company is ominous sounds from above.

Villanova Theatre is thrilled to announce that David Cregan, O.S.A., Ph.D. has been named Chair of the Theatre Department of Villanova University. Himself an alumnus of Villanova (BA '89), Fr. David is an associate professor of Theatre, and also teaches for the English Department. Before entering the Augustinian Order, Cregan spent four years in New York City working as a professional actor. He earned his Ph.D. in Drama Studies from the Samuel Beckett School of Drama at Trinity College in Dublin; his M.A. in Irish Studies from the Catholic University of America; his M.Phil in Irish Theatre and Film from Trinity; and his M.Div. from the Washington Theological Union. According to Cregan, his scholarly and artistic journey began here at Villanova, on the same campus where he currently teaches, directs, and celebrates Mass.

Mind The Gap Theatre and Early Bird Theatricals will present Jessica Fleitman's award winning comedy The Average-Sized Mermaid in August 2011 at The New York International Fringe Festival. The Little Sisters of Hoboken have gone Hollywood in the latest installment of the international musical comedy sensation Nunsense franchise with Nunset Boulevard. The Sisters will commit their exploits to celluloid in a New York City filming of the show for future DVD release, it was announced today by Nunsense creator Dan Goggin.
