PLAY IT COOL Set to Open at Theatre Row Acorn Theatre 9/2July 8, 2011'PLAY IT COOL' a new musical will be presented Off Broadway at Theatre Row - Acorn Theatre, 410 West 42nd Street. Previews begin Thursday, September 2nd. The hot jazz influenced musical is Conceived by Larry Dean Harris; with a Book by Martin Casella and Larry Dean Harris; Lyrics by Mark Winkler; Music by Phillp Swann; with Additional Music by Jim Andron, Michael Cruz, Marilyn Harris, Emilio Palame, Larry Steelman. It is directed by Sharon Rosen with choreography by Marc Kimelman. The musical is produced by Mary's Hideaway, LLC. The design team, cast and opening will soon be announced.
'New Orleans Down the Hatch' Returns to K-Joe's 7/15-7/23July 8, 2011Opening at K-Joe's restaurant in the French Quarter July 15, New Orleans Down the Hatch: A Cabaret in Two Cocktails celebrates the history of New Orleans through an evening of song and tasty cocktails. The show, nominated for the Big Easy Award for Best Cabaret in 2010, stars two Running With Scissors regulars: Big Easy Theatre Person of the Year Bob Edes and New Orleans culinary historian Elizabeth Pearce. Tinkling the ivories, you'll find the lovely and talented pianist Jim Walpole.
Stage Left Theatre Presents Chicago Premiere of FARRAGUT NORTH, Opens 9/3July 8, 2011Stage Left Theatre announces the upcoming Chicago Premiere of Farragut North written by Beau Willimon and directed by Artistic Director Vance Smith. Farragut North is the first production of Stage Left's 30th season. Press opening is Thursday, September 7th at 8 PM, and the show runs through October 9th.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre Presents COMEDY PIGS 18th AnniversaryJuly 8, 2011Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) is proud to present The Comedy Pigs 18th Anniversary featuring the best of the Pigs with special appearances from members of the Pigs from the last 18 years. The anniversary will be celebrated with two nights of The Comedy Pigs all original side-splitting sketch and improv comedy. Formed in 1992, the group has performed at national comedy festivals, been featured on Comedy Central, and have been guests at the National Pork Producers Convention.
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy To Perform With Atlanta Symphony, 8/14July 8, 2011The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will close the fourth season at its summer home, Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park, on Saturday, August 13, at 8:00 p.m., with Principal Pops Conductor Michael Krajewski leading the Orchestra and 'America's favorite little big band' Big Bad Voodoo Daddy in a night of jazz favorites.
