Seattle Repertory Theatre Artistic Director Jerry Manning announced today that Seattle writer Cheryl L. West's new play with music, Pullman Porter Blues, will be the season opener for the theatre's 50th Anniversary season, beginning fall 2012. The remainder of the 50th Anniversary season will be announced this spring.

GAN-e-meed Theatre Project's 1- Page Play Experiment encourages artists to fuse text, performance, and visual art to create a play on a single sheet of paper. IDENTITY is the theme for this second 1-Page-Play Experiment. The staged readings and gallery display of this season's 15 selected plays will culminate in fully mounted productions during the 2012-2013 season of the five most popular plays.

Lawrence Arts Center will present BUSKING THE SYSTEM on Firday, August 19 at 7:30 PM. Busking the System follows the real-life journeys of three talented young singer/songwriter guitarists who come from around the U.S. to pursue their passion as 'buskers' - or street performers - in the bustling New York City subway system.

As part of Performance Network's continued dedication to support and provide a voice for new and emerging playwrights, the Fireside Festival of New Works will be held August 28 - 31, 2011. This twice-yearly festival of staged readings, which is to be held at Performance Network Theatre, will feature brand new works by four playwrights.

GOD OF CARNAGE will Open on September 9 at the Artists Repertory Theatre. This 2009 Tony winner for Best Play tells the story of two sets of parents who meet to discuss a bullying incident in what they hoped would be a 'civilized manner. ' As the evening wears on that intent goes awry, and the play turns ferociously hilarious, shocking and disturbing, as the parents battle for ethical superiority.

The International City Theatre will present Private Lives - Noël Coward's stylish, savvy comedy about the people we can't live with - or without. Divorcés Amanda and Elyot meet up again quite by accident while on their second honeymoons, with brand-new spouses in tow. Fireworks fly as their reunion reveals just how quickly romance - and rivalry - can be rekindled.

Cape Rep Theatre will continue its 26th Season on September 15 with the World Premiere of Maura Hanlon's Good Bye Mary Rose. Hanlon will also direct. Performances will continue through October 16. Performances take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm. No performance on September 18. There will be an additional performance on Wednesday, October 5 at 7pm. Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) announced that Erin Mackey (Sondheim on Sondheim, Wicked) will assume the role of 'Hope Harcourt' on Tuesday, September 13th.
