Corin Tucker Band To Tour East Coast This September!June 18, 2012The Corin Tucker Band is set to return with Kill My Blues September 18 on Kill Rock Stars. The follow-up to the group's critically acclaimed 2010 release 1,000 Years-an album hailed as "thoughtful [and] subtle" by Pitchfork and "a determined effort" by the Los Angeles Times-Kill My Blues finds former Sleater-Kinney frontwoman Tucker returning to her riot grrrl sonic roots along with band members Seth Lorinczi (Golden Bears), Sara Lund (Unwound) and Mike Clark (Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks). Vacant Lot Theatre Co. Debuts A CHILD'S DRAWING OF A MONSTER, Now thru 7/21June 15, 2012A troupe of actors with a penchant for creating unexpected performances on stage will collaborate with an organization devoted to creating theater in unexpected locales as The Vacant Lot Theatre Company debuts, A Child's Drawing of a Monster, in a garage space re-imagined as a performance space by the nonprofit arts advocate, chashama. A selection of six abstract works by Brown University's head of playwrighting, Erik Ehn, A Child's Drawing of a Monster will open at Moe's Taxi, 26-15 Jackson Avenue, Long Island City (one block from Court Square subway stop on the 7, E, G and M lines), on Thursday, July 12, with additional shows on July 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20 and 21. Performance times are 8 PM Wednesday through Saturdays and Sunday at 7 PM. Tickets are $18 USD.
