Jackie Evancho performed a very special concert to an audience of government officials and more than 100,000 members of the public at the opening of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in Russia's Palace Square on June 20. A Bouquet of Opera was an event billed as a symbol of unity and equality with artists from Russia, the US and Asia sharing the stage. Jackie performed with Russia's Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Korea's Sumi Jo, two of the world's biggest opera stars. Jackie performed both classical and crossover songs, including 'O Mio Babbino Caro,' 'The Prayer,' and 'Con te Partiro (Time to Say Goodbye)' as a duet with Sumi Jo.

T. Schreiber Studio and Theatre held a memorial service for former student Roxi Sorina on what would have been the young woman's 22nd birthday, June 21, 2012. While walking home in the early hours on May 24, 2012, Sorina was killed in a hit and run accident by a dump truck in Union Square.

Examining the new nature of relationships in our internet-centered, voyeuristic culture, InContact is the first feature film by well-known video installation artist Ann Oren. Presented by DSALA and hosted again by the famed L.A. Derby Dolls, the evening will be a bursting expo of art, science, music and comedy, plus an all-star roller derby bout featuring the L.A. Derby Dolls vs. the San Diego Derby Dolls. Proceeds will benefit DSALA's efforts to support those born with Trisomy 21/Down syndrome living in greater Los Angeles.
