Paris-based American artist Evan Roth (b. 1978) re-appropriates public space, popular culture, and digital techniques to create surprising and illuminating works both on and off the Internet. Museum of the Moving Image is currently presenting a new installation by Roth, entitled A Tribute to Heather, comprised of ten large-scale animated GIFs, commissioned by the Museum. Each work will be exhibited as a 50-foot long projection in the Museum's lobby for a full day on a two-week cycle. The installation, which opened on February 27, will be on view through June 30, 2013.

The Cincinnati Arts Association has announced the winners of its 2013 Overture Awards Scholarship Competition, held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Aronoff Center's Jarson-Kaplan Theater. The competition annually awards $3,000 scholarships to six area students for post-secondary education, with 18 runners-up each winning $500 scholarships.

Back by popular demand, THE BOOK OF MORMON which played a record-breaking two-week run in January 2013 will return for a limited engagement from July 22 - August 10, 2014 at The Paramount Theatre. Fine Lines: American Drawings from the Brooklyn Museum, the first exhibition presented in the newly renovated Robert E. Blum Gallery on the first floor, presents a selection of more than a hundred rarely seen drawings and sketchbooks produced between 1768 and 1945 from the Brooklyn Museum's exceptional collection. The exhibition will feature the work of more than seventy artists, including John Singleton Copley, Stuart Davis, Thomas Eakins, William Glackens, Marsden Hartley, Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, Eastman Johnson, Georgia O'Keeffe, John Singer Sargent, and Benjamin West. Among the works on display will be Gaston Lachaise's Back of a Nude Woman (1929), Winslow Homer's Two Girls in Field (1871), and William Merritt Chase's Shinnecock Hills (circa 1895). Investigating the place of drawing within the broader history of American art before 1945, Fine Lines showcases a variety of subjects, styles, and practices and demonstrates the variety and vitality of the graphic arts in America across nearly two centuries.

William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced that the university will host a live performance by the famous spoken word artist Abyss on Thursday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the university's Belk Dining Hall. In addition to Abyss, UpRite Lions, a hip hop vocal group that formed in 2008, will perform at the event. Students of William Peace University will have the chance to perform alongside Abyss and UpRite Lions as they recite their own poetry and musical talents. Following the performance, a meet and greet with the artists will held.
