New York Theatre Workshop Announces CASEBOOK Program

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that NYTW's production of Sontag: Reborn will serve as the 2012-13 Season Casebook study, which will allow the general audience unprecedented access to the artists and process involved in the creation of a new work as it happens. Casebook - The Making of Sontag: Reborn will take place on 10 consecutive Tuesday evenings starting April 2, 2013. Sontag: Reborn is produced in collaboration with The Builders Association and is based on the book by Susan Sontag and edited by David Rieff, adapted & performed by Moe Angelos and directed by Marianne Weems.

Back by popular demand, THE BOOK OF MORMON which played a record-breaking three-week run in the fall of 2012 will return for a limited engagement October 22-November 24 at the Buell Theatre. Subscribers to the 2013/14 Denver Center Attractions season will have first access to purchase tickets to the return of THE BOOK OF MORMON on April 8. A public on sale date is to be determined.

Guest conductor Jun Markl will lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in a program featuring ASO Principal Bassoon Carl Nitchie at center stage for Mozart's Bassoon Concerto in B-Flat Major. Also on the program is Beethoven's Symphony No. 6, 'Pastorale,' and Ravel's Le tombeau de Couperin. The performances will take place March 14-16, 2013, at 8:00 p.m., in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center.

The producers of The Audience today announced Robert Hardy's decision to withdraw from the production. Hardy, 87, recently suffered a fall and cracked some ribs, yet continued to perform at all of the preview performances last week. Over the weekend he has decided that a schedule of eight performances a week over a long run is not sustainable and he has therefore reluctantly decided to stand down. The Producers would like to thank Robert Hardy for his extraordinary contribution to the production and they wish him a speedy recovery.
