It is with great sadness that The Philadelphia Orchestra mourns the death of Wolfgang Sawallisch, conductor laureate of the Orchestra and its music director from 1993 to 2003. Mr. Sawallisch passed away on Friday at his home in Grassau, upper Bavaria, Germany. He was 89 years old. In a special tribute and dedication to him, the Orchestra performed Wagner's Siegfried Idyll to open its Sunday afternoon concert.

Village Theatre's commitment to nurturing new musicals continues with the world premiere of TRAILS, opening March 14, 2013 at the Issaquah theatre. Casting has been announced for The Hub Theatre's spring production of LAUREN YEE's time-bending comedy, A MAN, HIS WIFE AND HIS HAT. SASHA OLINICKleads the cast as Hetchman, a retired hatmaker and title character of the piece. Olinick earned rave reviews as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the Round House Theatre production of AMADEUS.
