Center Theatre Group has announced the participants for the 2012-2013 Writers' Workshop. Administered by CTG's Literary Department, the Writers' Workshop consists of eight Los Angeles playwrights who meet once a month over nine months to share their work and assist one another in the creative process of developing a play.

Sundance Institute announced today 19 members of five juries awarding prizes at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, January 17-27 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah. Short Film Awards will be announced at a ceremony on January 22 at Park City's Jupiter Bowl, with feature film awards announced at a separate ceremony on January 26.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Cloisters museum and gardens will be open to the public on two Mondays in December-December 24 and 31, the days before Christmas and New Year's Day, respectively-as part of the Museum's popular 'Holiday Mondays' program. Closing time on both days will be 5:00 p.m.

Two celebrated Pasadena-based theatres, A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company, and The Theatre @ Boston Court, an award-winning theatre committed to inherently theatrical new works, received Mid-Size BEST (Building Excellence in Small Theatres) Awards from The Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation at the recent LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards. The awards, which vary in amounts between $10,000 and $25,000, provide general operating support to non-profit organizations with revenues between $850,000 and $3,000,000.

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, continues its 2012-2013 season with Matthew Lopez's The Whipping Man, directed by Kimberly Senior. The production will run at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie, from January 18-February 24, 2013. The Press Opening is Friday, January 25, at 7:30 pm.

The Performing Arts School at bergenPAC is working with the Englewood Economic Development Corporation and the City of Englewood to expand the Performing Arts School to accommodate growth and drive positive economic impact to the City.

The multi-award-winning NoHo Arts Center Ensemble (NoHoAce) announces that the world premiere play, ONE NOVEMBER YANKEE, written and directed by Joshua Ravetch and starring two-time Emmy winner Loretta Swit and four-time Golden Globe nominee Harry Hamlin will be adapted into a feature film, written by Joshua Ravetch for Pam Williams Productions. The play, which is now extended thru Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the NoHo Arts Center, stars veteran actors Lorreta Swit and Harry Hamlin as siblings who discover the wreckage of a single engine plane crash years after the accident has occurred.

The National Tour of the award-winning musical Fiddler on the Roof will be at Broadway Palm from December 29 through February 16, 2013. The cast and crew began the tour in August 2012 and will continue traveling the United States through April 2013. Based on the stories of Sholem Aleichem, Fiddler on the Roof has captured the hearts of people all over the world with its humor, warmth and honesty.

SILENCE! The Musical will play a special added matinee performance next Wednesday, December 26th at 2 PM at the Elektra Theatre.

Williamsburg, Brooklyn's venerable Teddy's Bar & Grill will welcome 2013 with The Big New Year's Bash, from 9:00 PM - 4:00 AM on New Year's Eve. Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) will continue its OSL@DMC series of free events atThe DiMenna Center for Classical Music on January 11, 2013 with a concert showcasing the new Amateur Musicians Project (AMP). Four AMP ensembles will perform works by Bach, Beethoven, Bruch and Schumann, and OSL musicians will provide a brief overview of their coaching work.

They played through a blackout in Dallas as a tornado tore the power lines down, hunted for crop circles in middle America, and saw first-hand the place where aliens landed in New Mexico. They visited the castles of seaside France and got lost in London more than once.
