Once again, multi-Grammy and Tony nominated composer and host Frank Wildhorn gathered some of his talented pals to sing his pop and theater songs, but this night was extra-special. Over the past few months, Wildhorn has used the concerts to raise funds for The Actors Fund, so to celebrate the years end, he presented a check for $4000 to the Fund's Tim Pinckney.

MoMA Opens INVENTIONS: ABSTRACTION Exhibition, 12/23December 18, 2012Inventing Abstraction, 1910-1925, on view at MoMA from December 23, 2012, to April 15, 2013, explores the advent of abstraction as both a historical idea and an emergent artistic practice. Commemorating the centennial of the moment at which a series of artists invented abstraction, the exhibition is a sweeping survey of more than 350 artworks in a broad range of mediums-including paintings, drawings, prints, books, sculptures, films, photographs, recordings, and dance pieces-that represent a radical moment when the rules of art making were fundamentally transformed. Half of the works in the exhibition, many of which have rarely been seen in the United States, come from major international public and private collectors. The exhibition is organized by Leah Dickerman, Curator, with Masha Chlenova, Curatorial Assistant, Department of Painting and Sculpture, The Museum of Modern Art.

Atlanta Symphony Announces January ConcertsDecember 18, 2012 Music Director Robert Spano will lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in the world premiere of The Nature of Light, a clarinet concerto by Atlanta School of Composers member Michael Gandolfi, which was written for Principal Clarinet Laura Ardan. The program will also include Rimsky-Korsakov'sScheherazade and the Atlanta Symphony premiere of Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 5 with pianist Juho Pohjonen. Tickets are $23-$67.
Andre Feriante Celebrates 15 Years at Benaroya Hall, Valentines Day 2013December 18, 20122013 is a landmark year for Seattle-based guitar virtuoso Andre Feriante; it's the 20th anniversary of Andre's beloved Valentines concert (15 years at Benaroya Hall). And for the first time in years, the concert will actually fall on Valentines Day! From 1994 to 1998 Andre moved from SAM to The Frye, to the Broadway Performance Hall for his Valentines Day concert; then in 1999, a few months after Benaroya Hall opened, Andre settled in at the Nordstrom Recital Hall. Benaroya Hall has been his Valentines Day concert home ever since. February 14, 2013 also marks the release of his new CD, Beatles Masquerade ($15), and features his classical and Spanish style guitar improvisations with Beatles motifs woven throughout.

RFK Play to Open in Washington, DC, July 2013December 18, 2012New City Stage Company opened the Philadelphia of'RFK' by Jack Holmes on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 and then extended the show into November after 18 straight sold-out houses. Arguably the highest rated play performed in the greater Philadelphia area this fall, it has received rave reviews and was attended by the playwright as well as many other theatre professionals and producers. As a result, 'RFK' in being fully produced 2 more times within the next year by New City Stage Company.

Ms. Brightman's concerts in Boston, MA at the Boston Opera House and in Hartford, CT at the Bushnell have been rescheduled; Ms. Brightman will perform in Boston on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 and in Hartford on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Tickets that have been purchased for Ms. Brightman's performance at PPAC are not transferrable.
