The Martha Graham Dance Company (Janet Eilber, Artistic Director; LaRue Allen, Executive Director) will present 15 performances at The Joyce Theater, February 20-March 3, 2013. The season continues the company's innovative thematic presentations with Myth and Transformation-three compelling programs that explore how artists reinvent iconic stories to make bold contemporary statements. The two-week season features Graham masterworks including Phaedra, Cave of the Heart, Night Journey, Errand into the Maze, and Diversion of Angels alongside new commissions and premieres from Richard Move, Luca Veggetti, and Doug Varone. A reconstruction of a Graham solo, Imperial Gesture (1935), will also be presented. Performances will take place Wednesday, February 20 to Sunday, February 24; and Tuesday, February 26 to Sunday, March 3.

Dallas Theater Center announced today that it will launch a new, free pre-show lecture program, Come Early, sponsored by Wells Fargo, with the first performance of King Lear on January 18. Come Early is an informative 30-minute lecture that will be offered before every performance of every play at DTC. It is designed to enhance the audience's theater-going experience and is a companion program to DTC's existing Dr. Pepper Snapple Stay Late post-show audience talk back series.

Carly Sakolove, who is currently featured in the YouTube sensation "Les Miserables NYC Film Premiere," will return to The Duplex with her hilarious Broadway Diva impressions in January. Carly will appear for one night only in her show I HEAR VOICES. The show, written by Sakolove and Tony Award nominee Bill Russell, will play on January 25th at 9:30pm.

Saturday, February 2, 2013 brings internationally renowned Sicilian tenor Marcello Giordani to town for a single outstanding performance at 7:30 p.m. in the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House.

Berkeley Playhouse continues its fifth season with the Tony-winning GUYS AND DOLLS. This oddball romantic comedy finds gambler Nathan Detroit desperate for money to pay for his floating crap game. To seed his opportunity, he bets Sky Masterson a thousand dollars that Sky will not be able to make the next girl he sees, Save a Soul Mission do-gooder Sarah Brown, fall in love with him. While Sky is eventually able to convince Sarah to be his girl, Nathan fights his own battles with Adelaide, his fiance of 14 years. Often called "the perfect musical," GUYS AND DOLLS features such bright and brassy songs as "A Bushel and a Peck" "Luck Be a Lady," and "Adelaide's Lament." Jon Tracy (Berkeley Playhouse, Aurora Theatre Company, Shotgun Players, San Francisco Playhouse, Magic Theatre) helms this musical, his seventh production for Berkeley Playhouse.

Salvatore Cordella will make his Met debut as Leicester in this evening's performance of Donizetti's Maria Stuarda, replacing Matthew Polenzani, who is ill.

Profiles Theatre continues its 2012-2013 Season with Midwest Premiere of The Dream of Burning Boy by West Read, directed by Artistic Director Joe Jahraus. The production runs January 18 - March 10, 2013 at Profiles Theatre's Alley Stage, 4147 N. Broadway. Note to press: Due to a vibrant and busy month of theatre openings across Chicago, the press performance has been changed to accommodate schedules. The press opening is Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 8pm.

Signature Theatre has announced that casting is confirmed and tickets are now on sale for THE DANCE AND THE RAILROAD written by David Henry Hwang and directed by May Adrales. All tickets for the initial run of the production are $25 as part of the Signature Ticket Initiative: A Generation of Access. The production runs February 5 through March 17, 2013 with a February 25 opening night in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

The Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company is receiving $14,400.00 from the Cooperative Marketing Grant sponsored by the New Jersey Department of State: Division of Travel and Tourism. The award was given based on the scores of an independent evaluation and funding review committee that studied ELTC's application and marketing plan. This is the sixth year in a row that ELTC has received this prestigious grant, and it will be used solely for advertising.

Victory Gardens Theater announces The Warriors for Newtown, a benefit to support the Sandy Hook Elementary Victims Relief Fund. The evening will include a one-night-only reading of The Warriors by Evan Linder, conceived by Mary Hollis Inboden with contributions by Sarah Gitenstein, Wes Needham, Whit Nelson, Nicole Pellegrino and Michael Peters, followed by a community conversation. Kimberly Senior will direct the benefit reading. The Warriors for Newtown will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at the Victory Gardens Zacek McVay Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue, in the heart of Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Perseverance Theatre Artistic Associates Shona Strauser and Bostin Christopher team up for the first time on Betrayal by Harold Pinter. Strauser plays Emma and Christopher directs in this first ever production of Pinter at Perseverance. The show plays from Jan. 11-Feb. 3, 2013 on the Perseverance Theatre Mainstage. On January 16, 1938, the Benny Goodman Orchestra set a new precedent for jazz performances by performing at Carnegie Hall. Up until then, jazz was traditionally heard in clubs. Furthermore, the concert broke new ground for racial equality by being one of the first such presentations in a "highbrow" concert hall to feature a racially integrated band. From January 15th to January 20th, the Blue Note will bring the world of jazz orchestras back to the club with the music of Benny Goodman's immortal Carnegie Hall Concert.

Maritz, in collaboration with the Arts and Education Council, announced today that it has awarded $30,000 in grants ranging from $1,400 - $5,000 each to nine arts education projects in the St. Louis bi-state area through the Maritz Arts and Education Fund for Teachers. Maritz and the Arts and Education Council partner to offer this unique funding opportunity to individual schools and non-profit organizations to support projects and opportunities that encourage creativity in the classroom; the grants are administered by the Arts and Education Council and supported by Maritz. The unique funding program enables teachers to apply directly for a grant. Awards are granted at the beginning of the school year.

The St. Louis Symphony announced today the extension of David Robertson's contract as Music Director. Robertson, currently in his eighth season with the orchestra, will remain as Music Director in St. Louis through the 2015-2016 season.

Music Director Robert Spano and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will perform its annual tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at 8:00 p.m., in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center. The concert will feature two world premieres: a new work by jazz pianist Marcus Roberts; and Everything Lasts Forever by composer and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra bassist Michael Kurth.

Little Angel Theatre has announced that their 2013 Associate Artist will be Darren East. Darren is a performer and director, working with companies including Unpacked Theatre and Touched Theatre, and also runs participatory puppetry projects through Touched and inclusive youth arts organisation Cultures Club.
