11th Hour Theatre Company continues its new NEXT STEP concert series with a concert version of Passing Strange with music by Stew and Heidi Rodewald, and book and lyrics by Stew on Saturday, January 19-21 at Off-Broad Street Theatre (1636 Sansom Street). Directed by Michael Philip O'Brien with music direction by Alex Bechtel , this fourth-wall shattering, genre-bending musical features 2011 Tony Award nominee Forrest McClendon and 11th Hour favorite Carl Clemons-Hopkins as well as Demetria Bailey,Adrienne Brown, Erin Fleming, Nichalas Parker, and Candace Thomas. This show marks McClendon's return to 11th Hour since winning the 2009 Barrymore for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for its production of Avenue X.

Marc Anthony Adds Second Show at Barclays Center

Due to popular demand, Cardenas Marketing Network (CMN) has added a second show at Barclays Center featuring global pop icon Marc Anthony on Friday, Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. The Grammy Award winning artist is also set to perform at the brand new, the state-of-the-art venue on Saturday, Feb. 16. Both shows are being produced by CMN.

Grammy-nominated musician Richard Thompson returns with Electric, a guitar-driven set of 11 new songs, out February 5 on New West Records. That night, Thompson will play Joe's Pub in New York City in celebration of the release (info available at joespub.com). Named one of the "20 Greatest Guitarists" by Rolling Stone and declared "one of this world's most gifted songwriters" by American Songwriter, Thompson has garnered widespread praise over the course of his career. Internationally acclaimed Grammy Award-winning conductor Helmuth Rilling, recipient of the 2011 Herbert von Karajan Music Prize, makes his 13th appearance with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra to guest conduct two performances of Mozart's sublime Requiem in D minor, K. 626, featuring soprano Stacey Tappan, alto Callista Hoffman, tenor Nicholas Phan, bass Michael Dean and the acclaimed USC Thornton Chamber Singers, under the direction of Jo Michael Scheibe, on Saturday, January 26, 8 pm, at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, and Sunday, January 27, 2013, 7 pm, at UCLA's Royce Hall. The all-Mozart program, which celebrates the legendary composer's 257th birthday, opens with his majestic Symphony No. 39 in E-flat major, K. 543.

Hot on the heels of their recent critically acclaimed album release 'New York Connection', UK rock legends SWEET have released a new live CD only available by digital download. Performing the band's most famous and influential album from 1974 'Desolation Boulevard' live, SWEET's 'Desolation Boulevard Revisited' recaptures the album in concert with all of the raw energy that can only come from a live performance. Originally titled 'Sweet Fanny Adams' in the UK, the 1974 US release of the album, re-titled 'Desolation Boulevard', was a turning point for the band featuring, for the first time, more of a hard rock sound. The album yielded classic hits such as 'Ballroom Blitz', 'Fox On The Run' and 'The Six Teens', catapulting the band to international stardom!

Theatre Exile will present the third show of their 16th season with the Philadelphia premiere of The North Plan by Jason Wells. Directed by Exile's own Joe Canuso, of South Philadelphia, and featuring veteran Philadelphia actors Madi Distefano, Dan Hodge, Robert DaPonte, Aimé Donna Kelly, Carl Granieri and Mark Cairns. The North Plan will run from February 13 to March 3, with the official press opening on February 16 at 8pm.

Koch (US, 2012, 95 min.) will receive its New York City premiere at the New York Jewish Film Festival at Lincoln Center's Walter Reade Theater on Thursday, January 10 at 6 pm and Sunday, January 13 at 3:30 pm. Ed Koch will participate in the Q&A session following the January 13 screening. Neil Barsky, director of the film, will appear at the Q&A session after the January 10 screening. The 22nd annual New York Jewish Film Festival, presented by The Jewish Museum and the Film Society of Lincoln Center from January 9 to 24, 2013, includes 45 features and shorts from 9 countries.

Heather Henderson recently accepted the position of Managing Director with Abingdon Theatre Company, now in its 20th Season of developing and producing new plays by American playwrights, announces Artistic Director Jan Buttram. For the past 18 months, Ms. Henderson served as Abingdon's Director of Development. She replaces Samuel J. Bellinger who recently became Director of Finance at Second Stage Theatre. Mr. Bellinger served as Abingdon's Managing Director for 19 years and will continue to serve on Abingdon's Board of Directors. Prior to joining Abingdon's staff, Ms. Henderson had a multi-faceted career in the financial sector, spending the bulk of her time sitting on a foreign exchange trading floor as a representative of the Private Banking Group for Citibank, working predominantly with Latin American clientele. She also served as a team member of UBS Financial Services, managing assets that ran the gamut from retail to ultra high net worth individuals. She also worked with high net worth families creating customized tax efficient wealth management strategies to meet their special needs, utilizing long-term focus and advising clients in proper estate and tax planning. Prior to joining UBS, she was a Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch.
