Punch Brothers are the New York City-based quintet of mandolinist Chris Thile, guitarist Chris Eldridge, bassist Paul Kowert, banjoist Noam Pikelny and violinist Gabe Witcher. Their new album, Who's Feeling Young Now?, produced and engineered by Jacquire King, contains some of the most exhilaratingly direct, sonically daring performances the group has ever recorded.
Comix At Foxwoods has announced that Academy Award winner, Steven Wright, will grace the stage for one show only when he visits the Fox Theater at Foxwoods on Saturday, April 20 at 8 p.m. Tickets for this highly-anticipated show will be available for presale through Comix and Ticketmaster on Thursday, Jan. 17 at 10 a.m., and regular tickets will go on sale Friday, Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. Fans can purchase tickets in advance for $30, $40 and $55.
The Arc Theatre expands from three successful years in residence at "Shakespeare on the Ridge" in Evanston to present the first show of its inaugural full season. Symphony Space's long-running public radio program, Selected Shorts, is pleased to be joined by an all-star line-up of guest hosts in 2013. Stephen Colbert, Neil Gaiman, John Lithgow, Cynthia Nixon, David Sedaris, and BD Wong, writers and performers who have all participated in previous Selected Shorts shows, each bring their own unique voice, humor, and insight to the hosting duty and honor the memory of Selected Shorts' creator and long-time host, Isaiah Sheffer, who passed away last month after a brief illness.
When the annual NAMM Show (National Association of Music Merchants) gets underway at the Anaheim Convention Center later this month, one of the performers will be the Los Angeles-based Ben Babylon Band (BBB). The BBB is an alternative rock group fronted by 15-year-old singer/songwriter Ben Babylon, an award-winning pianist and keyboard player, who is working on his first album with help from members of the Elton John Band.

The Buck Creek Players will continue their 2012-2013 season 'In the Spotlight' with the hilarious comedy Escanaba in da Moonlight, written by Jeff Daniels (The Hours, Terms of Endearment, Dumb and Dumber). The Douglas Morrisson Theatre opens its 2013-14 Season of Mystery & Romance with a bang in February with 'Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure' by Steven Dietz. The play, based on the original 1899 script by William Gillette and Arthur Conan Doyle, won the 2007 Edgar Award for Best Mystery Play. The first visible sign of the return of Cirque du Soleil and its live production OVO in Melbourne is the raising of its trademark blue and yellow Big Top and the Cirque du Soleil village. The event, which took place today at Melbourne Docklands, marks the return of the trademark Big Top after a 4 year absence. A team of 60-plus men and women hoisted more than 100 steel poles from the ground up to raise the Big Top tent.
