Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein are pleased to announce the cast and creative team for Girlfriend. This irresistible rock musical begins previews January 29 and 30, opens January 31 and runs through February 17. Girlfriend, with book by Todd Almond and music and lyrics by Matthew Sweet, will be directed by Les Waters and run for three weeks in the Pamela Brown Auditorium at Actors Theatre of Louisville as part of the Brown-Forman Series.

The New York Times reports today that Cirque du Soleil will lay off approximately 400 people starting at the end of this month. Most of the workers will be in Montreal, according to the report, and Cirque du Soleil cites high costs for its complex shows - four of which will be closing by the end of the year.

Called "one of the funniest shows you're ever likely to see" by Entertainment Weekly, AVENUE Q features a cast of humans and puppets who tell a story about trying to make it in New York City with big dreams and a tiny bank account.
