Registration has begun for visual and performing arts summer programs at the Howard Arts Council (HCAC) in Ellicott City. Programs are open to the public, regardless of residency in Howard County, for grades K-7. Campers must turn 5 years of age minimum by September 1, 2011 to be eligible for summer camp.

The Kennedy Center production of Barrio Grrrl! begins a national tour on Saturday, January 22, 2011 as part of the Center's 18th Theater for Young Audiences on Tour series for young people and their families. Another Night, the film based on Nick Flynn's memoir Another Bulls**t Night in Suck City, will star Robert De Niro as a homeless man looking for a place to stay and Paul Dano as his son who works at the shelter where his absent father shows up. The film, adapted and directed by Paul Weitz (who most recently directed Little Fockers), is in pre-production and has no slated release to date.
