The Garibaldi-Meucci Museum will offer two sessions of Italian Summer Kamp 4 Kids in July. The program will include Italian language immersion with games, songs, movement, arts and crafts and imaginative play to create a fun, age-appropriate, natural learning environment. Lesson plans are specifically tailored to each age group, teaching basic language skills in the context of everyday situations. Snacks and drop-off will be provided.

Colburn School Conservatory student Nigel Armstrong arrived in Russia this week to compete at the prestigious XIV International Tchaikovsky Competition. Armstrong recently came to international attention with his silver-medal wins in the 2010 Menuhin Competition's Senior Division and the First International Violin Competition of Buenos Aires. Armstrong, 21 years-old, currently studies at The Colburn School under the esteemed Robert Lipsett.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre is holding open auditions for its upcoming season (September 2011 - June 2012). The MET will be looking for non-union actors 18 and over of all types. The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra today announced the cast for Do You Hear the People Sing? The Dream Concert!, a world premiere pops production of music from renowned Broadway composers, Alain Boubil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, the creators of the hit musicals Les Misérables and Miss Saigon among others. Conducted by the Orchestra's Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly, Do You Hear the People Sing? The Dream Concert! will open the ISO's 2011-2012 Printing Partners Pops Series on Oct. 7 and 8 at the Hilbert Circle Theatre in downtown Indianapolis and also will be performed at The Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Ind., on Sunday, Oct. 9.
