Make Music Winter, a free, outdoor music-making celebration held each Dec. 21 and featuring 15 participatory musical parades across New York City that bring communities together, today announced its updated schedule of events. The all-day musical celebration on the winter solstice brings out New Yorkers of all ages and musical ability to sing, play, march and dance their way across streets, parks, plazas and other public spaces across the five boroughs. Make Music Winter, which launched in NYC in 2011 and is expanding nationwide with 30 U.S. cities participating, is the cold-weather counterpart to Make Music Day, the annual global celebration of music occurring on June 21, the summer solstice.

MTV today announced it will bring back its legendary 'MTV Spring Break' in 2019, expanding its fast-growing live events business on the heels of its acquisition of SnowGlobe Music Festival. The all-new 'MTV Spring Break' will be held March 19th-21st at the Grand Oasis Hotel in Cancún, Mexico featuring its signature mix of high-energy performances, surprise celebrity guests, and thousands of young people from around the U.S. For the first time, MTV will also concurrently host alternative Spring Break events for the rising tide of young activists who use their free time to give back.

New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT), the largest member chapter within its worldwide network, has named Cynthia López, an Emmy, Peabody and duPont-Columbia Award-winning media strategist, and former Commissioner of the New York City Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment, as its new Executive Director. López will succeed Terry Lawler, who concludes a remarkable 21-year tenure, effective January 1st. Lacrimosa, an award-winning short film directed and co-written by Tanja Mairitsch, has been picked up by SHORTSTV.  The mesmerizing film tells the story of a young girl named Mila who wakes up in an unknown world full of mysteries. On her journey through the ever-changing surreal landscapes she meets her lost love, Theo. As they interact, Mila is forced to learn that love also means to let go.
