Netflix and Shondaland have set the cast for the upcoming series, BRIDGERTON. Based on Julia Quinn's best-selling series of novels, BRIDGERTON, is set in the sexy, lavish and competitive world of Regency London high society.  From the glittering ballrooms of Mayfair to the aristocratic palaces of Park Lane and beyond, the series unveils a seductive, sumptuous world replete with intricate rules and dramatic power struggles, where no one is truly ever on steady ground.  At the heart of the show is the powerful Bridgerton family. Comprised of eight close-knit siblings, this funny, witty, daring and clever group must navigate the upper ten thousand's marriage mart in search of romance, adventure and love.  

The Appleseed Cast have reemerged with their new album, The Fleeting Light of Impermanence, out now via Graveface (order). The Appleseed Cast's massive North American tour will resume on July 12 in Wichita, KS at Wave. The band will make stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Philadelphia, Brooklyn and more. The tour will include support from Young Jesus on the upcoming July dates and Muscle Worship on the newly added August and September dates. All upcoming shows are listed below. 

Nashville's Jeremy Ivey is thrilled to announce his debut album today, The Dream and the Dreamer, to be released on September 13 via ANTI- Records. “The only objective here was to film some ridiculous scenarios and make them seem ordinary,” Ivey said of the music video for the new single “Diamonds Back To Coal””. “The modern newsreel that we see on our feeds daily is beyond insane, it's surreal. Pop singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson today released the music video for her debut single “Missing You,” from Stranger Songs – a unique album inspired by Netflix's pop culture phenomenon, Stranger Things. The video was directed by Daniel Carberry and the song was co-written with Jesse Thomas (Louis Tomlinson, Martin Garrix) and co-written and produced by Sam de Jong (Marina, Little Mix, CYN).

Today, celebrated Malian rock band Songhoy Blues have announced dates for a North American tour to begin in September and extend through the fall. The tour comes following the band's sophomore album, 2017's critically acclaimed RESISTANCE, which Rolling Stone called one of the best albums of 2017. Since then, the band has toured consistently across five continents, spreading their unique sound and helping to make them a force to reckon with. This August will see the release of Songhoy Blues 'Live @ EartH' LP, a classic set recorded this past January in London at Evolutionary Arts Hackney, as a precursor to their new studio album.

Television's home for true crime programming, Investigation Discovery (ID), announced today the sophomore season of TWISTED SISTERS, with Khloé Kardashian returning as executive producer. Produced for ID by 44 Blue Productions, the series explores true stories of sisters as they evolve from kin to killers, delving into the events that drove them to take extreme and deadly measures. The ten-part season of TWISTED SISTERS will premiere on Monday, August 12 at 109c, only on Investigation Discovery.

California's socially and politically charged all female punk three piece, The Damed, have dropped their debut self-titled album to universal praise from fans and absolute shock from their adversaries. Fronted by guitarist-vocalist Heather Hellskiss, bassist Suzanne Slade and drummer Watts Yoshizawa, the angular stricken guitar riffs soaked in chorus and fuzz feed the brooding driving bass lines that weave between the tom-ridden disco punk surf beats. The sarcastic, aggressive lyrics are thrusted at you like knives while still maintaining a comforting catchy melody.

On July 26th, POP ETC will release Covers Collection, a selection of 21-reimagined songs that inspired the band throughout their career, including The Strokes' “Last Nite,”  The Beach Boys' “God Only Knows,” David Bowie's “Ashes to Ashes,” and many more. BET Networks announced that Devin Griffin joins the company as General Manager, BET+. The subscription video-on-demand service focused on the African American audience, BET+, will feature more than 1,000 hours of premium content including exclusive new original programming and fan-favorite series, movies, and specials from BET Networks, world-renowned creator Tyler Perry, and a host of leading African American content creators. Griffin will report to Scott Mills, President of BET Networks. Griffin will be based in Los Angeles. In his role, Griffin will manage the BET+ P&L and oversee business strategy & operations, including original programming, content acquisitions, marketing, distribution, planning and analysis.

 The Hollywood Foreign Press Association(HFPA) and the Asian World Film Festival (AWFF)  announce the first HFPA Snow Leopard Scholarship, which will be awarded to a new Asian short filmmaker during the Festival's fifth anniversary in Culver City, Los Angeles in November 2019. The festival will run November 6 to 14, 2019 in Culver City.

The GRAMMY Museum® Grant Program announced today that $200,000 in grants will be awarded to 15 recipients in the United States to help facilitate a range of research on a variety of subjects, as well as support a number of archiving and preservation programs. Research projects include work on musical anhedonia, musical training's relationship to complex memories, and the relationship between cognitive function and singing accuracy. Preservation projects include the archiving of uncirculated John Hartford jam tapes, 960 audio reels of Cajun and zydeco artists, and 221 rare interview recordings with African-American actors, performers, composers, musicians, and scholars, among many other preservation projects.

Today SiriusXM and Netflix announced the first original program to broadcast exclusively on the newly launched Netflix Is A Joke Radio channel 93.
