Disney's 'The Lion King, directed by Jon Favreau, journeys to the African savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub's arrival. Scar, Mufasa's brother-and former heir to the throne-has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba's exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his. The all-star cast includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyonce Knowles-Carter as Nala, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa and Billy Eichner as Timon.

Heartland Film's Indy Shorts Film Festival will present the Midwest premiere of award-winning writer and casting director Jen Rudin's short film Lucy in the Sky starring Whoopi Goldberg, Zoe Margaret Colletti, Catherine Curtin, Danny Burstein, Kelly Hu, Quinn McColgan, Isabella Russo, Madison Zamor, Lexi Gwynn and Adrian Raio. The festival runs July 25-28 in Indianapolis. 

This past month was filled with exciting stage-to-screen news! In casting news, The Little Mermaid cast Halle Bailey as Ariel in the upcoming live-action Little Mermaid film and Ryan Murphy's film adaptation of The Prom on Netflix has cast Meryl Streep and James Corden in lead roles. Amy Sherman-Palladino announced she is writing the script, as well as directing, the Gypsy film remake and Kinky Boots is heading to Broadway HD!

The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills announced the final selection for its PaleyLive LA summer season: An Evening in Lodge 49: Season Two Premiere. The program will take place on Thursday, August 1 at 7:00pm, at the Paley Center's Beverly Hills location.

Twenty One Pilots announced a new list of U.S. dates for the Bandito tour in support of their Trench album. The band released a month of new dates kicking off on Oct. 9 with a show in Tampa, Florida, at Amalie Arena and finishing on Nov. 9 at BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Marcus King Band has just announced a fiery round of new performers for the third annual Family Reunion. Topping the bill for the expanded lineup are Colorado bluegrass pickers Yonder Mountain String Band, Charleston funk and dance players Doom Flamingo, multi-faceted performer Doyle Bramhall II, blues rockers Andy Frasco & The U.N., and more. The fresh artists will join previously confirmed performers Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Josh Ritter & The Royal City Band, Amanda Shires, Future Birds, Los Coast, and of course, festival namesake The Marcus King Band (2 sets) to round out the September 27+28, 2019 event. ABC announced today that the upcoming sixth season of “How to Get Away with Murder” will be its last. The series, which has been a constant in ABC's TGIT programming block since its debut on Sept. 25, 2014, will return THURSDAY, SEPT. 26 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT). This season follows Professor Annalise Keating's (Viola Davis) class through their final semester in law school – while the deception, fear and guilt binding Professor Keating to her students prove deadlier than ever. 

Downton Abbey's Hugh Bonneville has joined the cast of Netflix's first live-action original musical Jingle Jangle, according to Deadline. Bonneville will star alongside Forest Whitaker  in the holiday film.

Today SiriusXM and Laugh Out Loud, Kevin Hart's comedy brand and multi-platform network, announced that the superstar actor and comedian is expanding his relationship with the world's largest audio entertainment company.
